The multi-year contract is an innovative, content based partnership making Sports Radio 680 The Fan, "The Official Sports Talk Radio Station of the Georgia Bulldogs", which will include Bulldog focused primetime programming, to begin on or before July 1, 2011, press conferences and comprehensive coverage of the Georgia Bulldogs and UGA's various sports programs. The partnership will also bring play-by-play of Georgia Baseball to Sports Radio 680 The Fan's sister station 1230AM The Fan 2 (WFOM-AM), beginning in May of 2011. The Fan 2 is based in Marietta, Georgia and covers Cobb, Gwinnett and most of Fulton County.

UGA's Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, Alan Thomas, "The partnership with 680 The Fan provides a great opportunity for the Georgia Bulldogs to extend the coverage of our program on a daily basis in Atlanta. 680 The Fan

680 The Fan, Atlanta's Sports Station, is owned by Dickey Broadcasting Company and is the second largest AM signal in Georgia reaching almost 400,000 listeners on a weekly basis and can now be heard on FM at 93.7. It is the exclusive ESPN affiliate and is the exclusive home of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers, the NFL, NBA, BCS, the NCAA National Championship Game, NCAA Final Four, SEC Basketball and Football Championships, The Masters, The 93rd PGA Championship and MLB.

680 The Fan's weekday program lineup consists of the Rude Awakening with Christopher Rude, Perry Laurentino, Leo Mazzone & Sandra Golden (6am to 10am), The Herd with Colin Cowherd (10am to 12pm), Chuck and Chernoff (12pm to 3pm) followed by Buck and Kincade (3pm to 7pm).

I was about to say. That just means that it is the "Official Home of the Bulldogs." I don't think baseball has been cleared in Atlanta before. Big add for that program.

Great... now we'll never get buck belue to shut the hell up for anyone with any logical reasoning skills to say something.. oh i dunno... intelligent?

didn't UGA just sign an extension with WSB a couple years ago? I think that contract runs through 2014.
Read the press release. Nowhere does it say that WCNN or WFOM are getting PBP and pregame/postgame for football or hoops. I'm assuming that stays with WSB.

At least Scott Howard and Eric Zier will be there because they are picked by UGA. WNGC has excellent UGA covreage.

Jabba is correct. The football and basketball Dawgs aren't leaving WSB, where they have been since 1928 and continuously since the 1940's. The Diamond Dawgs will get a few airings on Dickey radio.

That's good, because the only station that carries the Diamond Dawgs on the radio is 960 the ref in Athens,David Johnston who host bulldog Friday night does the play by play,he is awsome. He is also the pa annoucer at Stegman Colusem.

Carrying UGA baseball would be an upgrade for WFOM. Come to think of it, carrying Beesball would be an upgrade for 790.
