Day One for Jody

How did Jody Dean's first day at the morning helm on KLUV go? Anyone have any ideas on approximatly when the supporting cast and crew will be firmly in place?

There's already been some of the expected thrust and parry on just who will do what jobs, so any thoughts appreciated on whether the suits may now begin to lean harder on what they think "they" want. Or perhaps Jody has established himself as not being such a push over and won't stand by and allow the higher-ups to get all their wishes in place.

A true pro can do that. Jody's a pro. He did it.

sounded pretty good to me...

noticed that the morning show now is 5:00 am - 9:00 am , instead of 5:30-10:00

Jody AND the mgmt staff must realize that Jody is NOT Ron Chapman, thus his show will have plenty of differences...

I believe he will do fine, but let's watch those numbers and see how long the leash is for mgmt..

Also noticed that Chuck is on from 2:00 - 7:00; which adds 2 hours to his afternoon show. Wonder if he'll pre record his last hour like he did for a while several years ago.

I only heard the first two hours, but here's what I noticed as far as changes:

(1) Kim Stewart was in the studio with him instead of Kathy Jones

(2) Billy Bod Harris is back with Stock Market reports

(3) Jonathan Hayes was in the traffic copter

(4) Mitch Carr was there for news, but Nancy Jay was absent

(5) Ed Hilcher's voice was one of the callers, but Jody didn't mention his name

(6) Morning Drive is now from 5 am to 9 am

(7) "This Day In History" has been deleted from the format

It's easy to notice what's "new." If you're on your toes, perhaps you can pick up on Morning Drive elements that are now "missing."

Brinkman sounded very distracted this afternoon. More than usual that is. Went to traffic, introed Ben Laurie then remembered that Ben wasn't in today, Introed his replacement..and then nothing but traffic bed. Awkwardly stumbled into some Motown hit.

The break before that was some disjointed mess about a 4th of july promotion they were doing.

Where is John Summers when you need him?

Thank God Johnathon is back on. I like Ben but Johnathon deserves to be back on the air after that screwed over mess at The Bone a couple of years ago.

Chuck's show

Chuck has a great radio voice. I am not surprised to hear about his distracted show. He'll be 70 next month; why doesn't he just retire?
