Daylight Saving Time

It's a pain!

Oh, I'd like to play around and see what I can find. But that early in the morning I want to lie in bed.

The worst thing is that I couldn't pick up Paul Harvey clearly enough to listen on Wednesday morning at 7:30. Normally, I can hear him the day before at 3. I heard Alexander, red shirt and gray pants. What does this mean? Paul Harvey's web site used to have "The Rest of the Story" so I could listen if I missed it. And, ironically, I did think to listen the day before.

However, http://www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,66212.0.html .

As far as DST goes, it seems that some of the AM stations that should have been off before sunrise this week were broadcasting at day power. This past week I picked up an oldies station on 1030 where WBZ should be. Perhaps there was some confusion with the clock change? and the problems the FCC was having with the new PSSA / PSRA times and powers. Anyone care to chime in on this issue?

Your pain is someone else's opportunity. Anybody pick up stations you didn't normally receive because of the time change?

I can remember before the days before automated switching of patterns, power changes and sign offs recieving several stations on late after the October time change, one being the now-defunct WPRT in Prestonsburg, KY blasting into Ohio for that week. More recently in the spring time change I caught WGR in Buffalo at 5:30am..they should have been at day pattern at 6:30. I wouldn't doubt that there were a lot of stations whose systems weren't reset. I rreally don't understand the re-doing of PSA/PSSA times, can someone in the know explain?

Instead of my Paul Harvey station, one morning I heard a good song my Ronnie Milsap I may never have heard before. The DJ said the pianist also played on Charlie Rich's "Behind Closed Doors" and that there was almost a lawsuit because the songs were so much alike.

Good morning show, though. Folksy DJ, good music. I did find Paul Harvey on another radio, or maybe the radio I was already on picked him up in time. I forget.
