Days are numbered for The Maxwell Show on WNCX

Got a look at the last ratings book and the Maxwell Show continues to go down!!! The recently fired the co-host over at the WGAR morning show and they are right behind Maxwell. It's only a matter of weeks until WNCX pulls the plug on Maxwell for good. It was a Huge mistake hiring that show.

Right show, wrong station.

Maxwell fits better at 92.3.

Let him loose in the AM, and keep the current "Radio 92.3" jock-less Alt-rock format the rest of the day.

NCX needs to find a way to poach Ravenna Miceli off the sinking ship that is V 107.3, and give her the morning gig.

A little Biz to Biz trivia in the AM anyone?

Either that or Bob and Tom.

But the younger, edgier Maxwell just doesn't mesh with the rest of the NCX "mullet-rock" motif.

Dare we forget the gobsmackingly awful "David Lee Roth Show?" Or the infamous "Two Guys in the Morning" epic FAIL of 1989? WNCX has done FAR worse in the morning slot, believe me.

Decent show, wrong station, incompatible format. That's not a recipe for success.

Neither option will happen.

CBS won't spend the $$$ to front a morning show on 92.3 (even if it is moved over from 98.5). Maxwell likely won't be on WNCX when his year-long deal expires, but that's pretty much it.

And Ravenna will never be on WNCX due to the obvious and lengthy bad blood between GMan and CBS Radio.

BOB&TOM is a cheap and simple answer, but they never did well in their past three entries into the market (WWWE 95-96; WONE 97-98; and WMMS 06-08).

It's a shame really because they finally got the show where it needs to be without the music (though they should be going 6-10), which in itself indicates to me that they dont think a full talk show in the morning is what they want at NCX.

Also like someone else mentioned though it seems to make sense from a fans perspective, putting MWL on 92.3 probably won't happen. I know Rover was on there but since MWL isn't pulling his numbers they probably wont put him on a station that doesn't have a signal thats reaches as far as WMMS to compete with Rover.

So basically if CBS moves him, it will be out of state. Since they don't operate in Ohio outside of Cleveland.

I personally would like to see them come down to Columbus on Gen X or something like that in the afternoons, AM maybe too, but after talking to Dan at their event earlier in the week he hinted that the time switch may have to do with some of the personal problems running through the show.

WNCX really needs to not make another knee-jerk move to change morning shows. They were doing that before Stern and they're doing it after Stern. Let's see how Maxwell does in its latest incarnation at 'NCX.

My stab-in-the-dark idea of plopping Maxwell in morning drive of a new FM sports station on 92.3 FM looks more feasible with each passing day...

How many morning shows has 98.5 been through since Stern left?

1. The abortion that was David Lee Roth

2. Mudd (Wynn Richards), (Kim) Mihaulik, and Mike (Olsewski)

3. (Scott) Miller, Mihaulik, and Mike

4. Miller and Mike

5. The NCX Morning Show (Scott Miller and Jeff Blanchard)

6. Maxwell

So since 1-1-06, they've gone through 6 different morning shows.

That is, if CBS decided to pull the switch to sports (which I highly doubt). Also likely that they'll just burn off Max's contract and let him go, electing to retain Stansberry and/or Chunk with a replacement host.

I don't think Dan would leave Max. They are marketable, just if it came down to it out of town I would guess. I don't think they would offer Chunk anything unless it was with the entire show, unless its an off air position
