Fox News Channel is canceling its long-running show "Dayside," creating a new program with Martha MacCallum.

"Dayside" co-hosts Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy are preparing for a morning show that will begin next year on Fox Broadcasting. No jobs have been lost as a result of the shuffle, Fox News said.

MacCallum will anchor the 1-2 p.m. ET show, "The Live Desk With Martha MacCallum," which will replace "Dayside" beginning September 25. She will anchor the show from the Fox News Channel control room, which Fox said will bring viewers closer to the news. MacCallum has been with Fox News Channel since January 2004, after time at NBC and CNBC.

Additionally, Fox News said Jane Skinner will become a permanent part of the anchor team at "Fox News Live," which airs from 2-3 p.m. ET. Skinner, who is now a daytime anchor, starts her new job September 25.

Good riddance. Dayside when Linda Vester ran it was ridiculous and it never got any better with her replacements. It reminded me of CNN's awful afternoon "talk show-Donahue style" program they ran, except Fox's studio audience was 99% conservative, and could be counted on to respond like sheep when Vester mentioned Ted Kennedy or Hillary and they all booed on cue.

Apparently the Fox Fruit Loops in the morning on FNC aren't good enough for Fox Broadcasting, so now we get Jerrick and Huddy? I am not sure who is calling for a Fox morning show, since a lot of their affiliates are cashing in counter-programming the parade of court/judge shows and other stuff against the Regis or other daytime news-talk-fluff shows.
