Excluding any out of market cc (50KW) station that is included in your local radio ratings. For example Cincy WLW 700 AM can be heard and included in the recent Columbus ratings book. Here's my list:

More to come.

It depends on the time of year, weather, etc. but from where I sit, in NE Georgia, an hour or so from the SC state line and two hours from NC, I can hear most but not all of the
Atlanta stations. I also get WBT-AM (50kw) in Charlotte, WFNA-AM Charlotte, WSM-AM,(50kw) Nashville (very weak), WLAC-AM,(50kw) Nashville (very weak) WMAC-AM,(50kw) Macon, Ga. and WGAC-AM in Augusta, Ga. During the winter I can easily hear, WLW-AM,(50kw) Cincinnati and WCKY-AM(50kw) Cincinnati, during daylight hours, even at high noon.

From Mesa, Arizona (Phoenix area), these are the non-local stations I can get during all daylight hours, every day of the year:

KSAZ 580, Marana (5 kW, ND days, 390 watts, directional nights)
KVOI 690, Tucson (250 watts, ND days, 3 watts, ND nights)

In Charleston, SC, during the daytime,, with my Grundig S350 I can pick up several out of market stations.

The best one I can pick up is WOKV from Jacksonville (50kw), which is usually almost like a local in most of the Charleston area, even 15 miles away in North Charleston.

I can pick up almost every other Jacksonville AM station, with 930 the best of the rest. The only ones I can't pick up are 1460 (local at 1450), and 1530 (very directional pattern). Most of these signals are lost outside of the barrier islands and downtown Charleston for most radios.

WBMQ 630 from Savannah is another good out-of-town signal.

The most impressive signals that I can pick up are the ones from central Florida and Miami. I can usually pick up the 5kw 610 WIOD from Miami, just loud enough to hear what they are talking about. I can pick up 760 from West Palm Beach pretty well, which is only a 3kw station.

I can also pick up WBT from Charlotte weakly, but stronger in the winter.

With better equipment, I could probably pick up WSM from Nashville, the four big clears from New York, and probably WHAS in Louisville.

A few daytime out of market regulars from 40 miles Northwest of Chicago....

550: KTRS, St. Louis....Very week under WIND splatter
590: WKZO Kalamazoo, MI
600: WMT: Cedar Rapids, IA
640: WMFN: Grand Rapids, MI
700: WLW: Cincinnati. Weak but always in there. Hash from WGN is always an issue.
760: WJR: Detroit, Ditto WLW except the hash is compliments of WBBM
910: WSUI: Iowa City Weakest of the bunch but easily identifiable

The latter three are only audible (days) on my Delco car radio. The others are also listenable on my Grundig Yacht Boy PE and/or my Sony AM/FM Walkman.

from the southern edge of Metro Pittsburgh:

- 560 WFRB, Frostburg, MD
- 570 WKBN, Youngstown, OH (strong as local)
- 600 WSOM, Salem, OH
- 610 WTVN, Columbus, OH (sporadic and with strong hash under local 620)
- 640 WHLO, Akron, OH
- 760 WJR, Detroit, MI (used to get pretty well until local WKHB moved
from 1530 to 770 on the dial)
- 790 WPIC, Sharon, PA
- 830 WEEU, Reading, PA (very weak)
- 880 WRFD, Columbus, OH (weak)
- 920 WMMN, Fairmont, WV (sporadic)
- 990 WNTW, Somerset, PA
- 1100 WTAM, Cleveland (need to turn radio to null 1110 in Washington, PA)
- 1130 WBBR, New York (late day begins to stomp over WASP in Brownsville, PA)
- 1140 WRVA, Richmond, VA (sporadic, after 3PM)
- 1170 WWVA, Wheeling, WV (not as strong as I'd expect for 50KW just 60 miles away)
- 1190 WOWO, Ft. Wayne, IN (sporadic, after 3PM)

--- everything from 1200 to 1290 nothing but IBOC buzz from WEAE 1250 in Pittsburgh)---

- 1300 WCLG, Morgantown, WV (wedged between 1250 IBOC and 1320 WJAS)
- 1370, WVLY, Moundsville, WV (lot of noise from 1360 WPTT)
- 1390, WNIO, Youngstown, OH
- 1520, WWKB, Buffalo (sporadic, late-day)
- 1530, WSAI, Cincinnati (generally strong from mid-Afternoon onwards)
- 1560, WQEW, New York (sporadic, late day)
- 1600, WKKX, Wheeling, WV
- 1660, WQLR, Kalamazoo, MI (fairly common late-Afternoon catch)
- 1680, WHKT, Portsmouth, VA (sporadic, late-day)

WLW is not audible from my home but I can start to catch it by driving a half an hour
west. WABC used to be common in late afternoons until WKHB moved to 770. WPHT
in Philly was also a common afternoon catch before WEAE fired up their IBOC. WTVB
AM 1590, Coldwater, MI, would often come in early mornings and late afternoons before
WZUM in Carnegie, PA returned to the air.

In the winter WFAN, WOR, WABC, WCBS WBBR and WQEW from new york are constant daytime signals along with WBZ Boston and WTIC Hartford

They are WFLF, 540 from Pine Hills, in the Orlando area, a pretty average signal down the coast, and WDBO at 580, only 5kw, but still brings some punch into central Florida.

I can also pick up WONQ 1030, WIXC 1060 pretty well, WHOO 1080, sometimes WDYZ 990, and an AM from St. Augustine, WFOY (weak because of WTMA splash)

Due to power and proximity, the Raleigh-Durham area can easily receive FM stations from the Greensboro (WMAG 99.5, WVBZ 100.3, WSMW 98.7, WJMH 102.1, WKZL 107.5, WZTK 101.1, WKRR 92.3, WPAW 93.1, WHPE 95.5, WQMG 97.1), Fayetteville (WQSM 98.1, WRCQ 103.5, WKML 95.7, WFLB 96.5, WZFX 99.1), and and (to a lesser extent) Rocky Mount (WDWG 98.5, WPWZ 95.5) and Greenville-Washington-New Bern (WERO 93.3, WNCT 107.9, WSFL 106.5, WIKS 101.9). Additionally, Blacksburg, VA-licensed WVTF (Roanoke-Lynchburg) usually comes in very reliably. Don't know if this counts as a ROanoke-Lynchburg market signal, but Danville, VA's excellent country station WAKG 103.3 gets a good to fair signal into the area. Depends on where you are in the Greater Raleigh area as to which ones you receive the best.

I had an interesting experience in 1995, driving down into NC from Virginia. The interstate was twisty, mountainous, and I was getting pretty tired of hours of dealing with it. Then all of the sudden - holy ____ - the horizon opened up, I started a descent out of the mountains, probably down several thousand feet, and the FM dial opened up with dozens of stations I couldn't get just minutes before. As I decended for several minutes, they started weakening and disappearing. At the bottom, normal reception.

It happened again driving from Rapid City to Denver. You can take the interstate if you are an idiot, but there is a back road that shaves a hundred miles or more off the trip. I came down out of the mountains - same thing - the band opened up at the top, and closed down again at the bottom.

From Cape May County area of NJ (the wang that hangs at the bottom of the state) nightime is, er was, a treasure trove of goodies until Ibuquity. But daytime, I can still get WHP Harrisburg PA, WEEU Reading PA, WARM Scranton PA, and my fun one, WALK. WALK-AM 1370 is in Patchouge NY and a flamethrowin' 250 watts! But it still is clearly listenable all day. Gotta love that salt water.

Re: Bruce Carter post-the location is I-77 and you can get a LOT of stuff. You get the VA stations well until U go over, in some cases they get replaced witha different NC station completely. There's a rest stop/travel info station several miles going S into NC and it's cool to take a break, have a coffee and play with the radio. Geeky but fun.
Or U can stop in Fancy Gap VA and have a good meal and DX up there.
