I wanted to let you know that the Dayton Broadcasters Hall Of Fame now has a new website.
It's: www.daytonbroadcasthalloffame.com
I volunteered a while back to put together a new site for the Hall and we got it on the internet a few days ago. Not all of the pictures are up yet (we still have to retrieve some jpegs), not every link has been established. But over the next few weeks, I will be working to get all inductee pictures up. And, please remember...I'm a Disc Jockey, not a Web Designer! (OK...OK...I'll try to keep my day job!)
One goal I have with this website, is to make it a great deal more interactive...with pictures, audio, even video clips from our inductees work, as well as for significant events in Dayton radio history. So, I'd like to ask anyone who was ever in or collected such material about Dayton radio to contact me if you have something of which you might be willing to allow us to copy and post. I would be specifically interested in audio from WING in the 50's, 60's or 70's. WHIO from any era since 1935, WAVI/WDAO-FM, WONE/WTUE,
WVUD, WDJX/Xenia-Beavercreek, Ohio (of which it seems like almost no airchecks exist), etc. And, I'm sure as the days and years go by, more stations will be added to my list.
I have a few airchecks and video clips up...but this is just a start. (I do have about a dozen more things I have already to post. And, a few of them may be a surprise.)
To our TV folks...if you have some tape in a personal collection you might be willing to copy, or have us copy along these lines, I'd also welcome hearing from you. Whether it's from WHIO, WDTN (or WLWD), WKEF, whichever...I'd love a call or an e-mail.
To all inductees, or their families. I have not had the opportunity yet to contact all of you. I've just gotten to a few people whose phone numbers I knew. As time continues, I will be attempting to make contact, but if you'd care to contact me, I'd love hearing from you.
You see, another plan in the short-term future is to add a Dayton Radio Historical Media Page. I would even welcome submissions from broadcasters not yet inductees. Certainly it would make good listening and viewing to have such media from you posted on that page.
The Dayton Broadcasters Hall Of Fame is non-profit entity.
You may reach me by the information below. And, thanks!
