Besides the restaraunt biz, here's the lowdown on Don:
He did PD/Mornings at The Tiger/WTGR when it was Classic Rock.
He did work in the Traffic Dept. at Cox/Dayton and even filled in on Channel 7 and the Cox Radio outlets doing traffic when Sgt. Mark Bowron would take a day off. Not sure if he's still there or not.
Here's the story on WING-FM...
Radio One bought the five properties at 717 E. David Rd. in Feb. 2001 from Blue Chip. As most know, Radio One is "The Urban Radio Specialists". RO decided that they wanted to put U-92.1 out of business so they could dominate the Urban radio market in Dayton, not to mention they could pick up WROU-FM after they did their damage. Meanwhile, while all this was going on, CC decided they wanted to take Bob and Tom to WTUE, which in doing this, would displace Steve Kerrigan and Kate Burdett from mornings on 'TUE. Kerrigan moved to middays on 'TUE and Burdett was paired up with Scott Mallory on The X. Anyhow, 'CC and 'TUE took Bob and Tom home, and on August 3, 2001, Kerrigan and Kate did the final locally-based morning show on 'TUE, which would end a 15 year tenure on 'TUE morning drive for Kerrigan. Meanwhile, WING was looking for a replacement for B&T and were supposedly looking to bring on Lex and Terry or Howard Stern. RO decided Stern was "too pricey" for syndication rights and L&T turned out to be a rumor thrown out there. According to some, the entire Stern deal was a smokescreen that RO threw out there to shield the public that a dramatic change was coming to 102.9. On Friday, August 3, 2001, in the Dayton Daily News, then-GM Don Griffin announced the change and stated that there would be no warning that the station would be flipping, i.e. no stunting. At 6 PM on Aug. 3rd, RO flipped WING-FM(After a day where they played tunes that basically said that a flip was coming, like Steely Dan's "Black Friday" and Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven") to Rhythmic as "Hot 102.9" with Juvinile's "Set It Off" as the first tune. Hot 102.9 would retain the WING-FM calls until October 24, 2001, when the calls flipped to the current WDHT. The last song, according to whom you ask, was either "Stairway" or Iron Butterfly's "In Na Godda Da Vida". So, there's the story of why WING-FM flipped.
Also, towards the end of WING-FM, "The Voodoo Guru" nickname for Don LeDoux was dropped for some reason that i've never discovered.
