Dayton events advertising on 55KRC?

On Thursday during Rush Limbaugh's show on 550 WKRC, aka 55KRC, an advertisement for an event taking place in Dayton aired. I am specifically referring to the monthly Bill Goodman's Gun and Knife Show taking place at Hara Arena. (I knew after I heard "Get ready, Dayton, here it comes again!" after the opening jingle.)

I have heard Bill Goodman advertise on 700 WLW for shows at the Sharonville Convention Center. In those ads they start with "Get ready, Cincinnati, here it comes again!" without the opening jingle. What gives?

I'm just guessing, but is it possible that the Dayton show is hoping to pull attendees from greater Cincinnati? 55KRC has a great signal between Cincy & Dayton...

I don't see this as a big deal. 55 has advertised other regional events.
They'll definitely get folks to drive from Cincy for this.

I suppose if you're gullible enough to listen to WKRC and its McCarthyism of the air, you're also primed and ready to read in a conspiracy or significant trend to pretty much anything to have something else to get excited about. Seems to be part of the equation, doesn't it?

I mean, who would have ever surmised that a gun show would advertise on a station whose studio is an hour's drive away from the arena and whose programming is designed for the right wing conservative God'NCountry crowd. Who probably also like guns. No, who probably love guns.

Unless you're also associated with said event and think this is a forum that will bring you added business.

But then we're right back where we started all over again.

God bless, and don't forget to hug your adrenaline every day,

GL

McCarthyism? lol. If you need a quick primer on the difference between a talk show host and a US Senator...

I can hear the charges of racism if the gun show would have bought WIIZ. Wasn't WLW in on this buy? You mean you have never heard ads for a venue an hour away? Hell, people come from aol 50 states to a ham radio convention.

Hitler reference duly noted, and yes I realize anyone even slightly to the right of Hugo Chavez is a neo-nazi.

Always nice to know that people who put hard core conservative hosts with Tourette's syndrom on the air, and the good ol boys who listen to it, are at heart unable to take a taste of what they dish out on the air in a web posting.

God Bless America. United We Stand. All others pay cash.

You see, WKRC has a great signal even in the Dayton area. WLW can be heard clear in both markets.

Ah...but neither station rates significantly in Dayton. (WLW is way down in the ones or low twos now, and WKRC is a point-nothing. So, obviously, they're aiming at getting Cincinnatians to go north.

How you ever listened to Flush Nobaugh's show in the first place without turning one of the aformentioned weapons on yourself amazes me.
