Dayton Frequency Question

95.3 unfortunately has the better signal even though they suck. Good music selection. No jocks-- not bad. But, it sucks. 95.3- 6000 watts. 94.5- 3600 watts. 945's may not be updated because they upgraded their signal. Not sure. Source: Radio-Locator

Spoken by someone looking at radio-locator from 100 miles away, I'd say 94.5 wins hands down. 95.3 covers more square miles but many of them are populated by cows. The 94.5 tower has population in all directions...even though it may not cover quite as much real estate. Look at Radio Locator & check both signal circles. The one with the bigger percentage of Dayton inside of it is going to be the more competetive one. That would be 94.5 .

94.5 was bragging about having twice as much power a couple weeks ago. So it sounds like they're up to 6kW. They were protecting CC Lexington's Mix 94.5 for some reason.

Sorry.. I'm just a kid. I am actually living in Dayton. Technically Northridge, a suburb. I can pick up 945 and 95-3 just great. As well as Cincinnati stations. So no, definetely not 100 miles away Bob.

I believe that 95.3 has an application to move their tower to the Fairfield Commons area which would make their signal much better in Dayton. Channel 94.5 is now at 6k...they come booming into Middletown now, whereas before, Mix in Lexington sometimes overpowered them.....from over 100 miles away with their 100k blowtorch!!!

Hi lovesjamminoldies...I'm the one who's 100 miles away looking at radio locator, If I came across as directing the 100 mile thing at you, that was not my intention. Just making the point that I'm from outside of the market & have no first hand experience with the actual signals...aside from having helped repair the 95.3 transmitter in the early 1980's...
