Dayton, NV

I looked at the Dayton, NV, pictures on Google. Looks beautiful. And for DXing, not a lot to make interference and room for an outdoor antenna if you feel like it.

The mountain views are spectacular and the horses running around town look fun, too. Hope you enjoy it there.

Looks nice! But keep this in mind. The FM dial is packed solid in Reno. At least some of the translators might be nullable. They have filled almost every open channel with an AM translator or an HD2/3 translator if it isn't full-power. And it's home to a translator on 87.9 - K200AA Sun Valley (KAWZ).

If you get a chance, Virginia City is only 11 miles from Dayton. When you get there take a short train ride (35 minutes) on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad thru a tunnel to Gold Hill, very scenic!. It's even more historic than Dayton, as old west as a town can get. While there, one of the haunted tours is also fun.

I know Dayton is close to Reno/Carson City

It's not like I have most of the FM Dial Empy, Most of all the FM Frequencis is full

San Francisco/Sacramento going to be hard even with tropo Reno/Carson City Frequenies most the same as the SF/Sac ones

That's an interesting, and scenic, part of the world. Hope you enjoy it and let us know if you hear any good DX.

I can definitely recommend Virginia City. I've been there twice, once with members of my Dutch family. That time we were eating lunch at a restaurant in Virginia City. The sheriff of Storey County walked in: badge, uniform, gun, the complete package. Our Dutch visitors were very impressed - they got to see a real-life Western sheriff! Eating lunch!

Back on topic - Dayton is about the same elevation as Reno, but there are 3,000-foot hills between them. So you may actually have good results on FM. There don't appear to be any obstacles in terrain between Carson City and Dayton. In any event, good luck!

I be thier in 2 weeks

The frequencies I will be losing for DXing is

98.1, 92.5, 93.1, 96.1, 96.9, 99.7, 106.9

Herre in Rocklin 98.1 is like KUBA's translater ..There it's KBUL

No more KFRC 106.9, I want also to see how far 740 goes in the daytime

One of my presets is 103.7, So I have Classic Hits KODS

Mario, you may want to try for Radio Enciclopedia from Cuba on 530.

I used to hear them all the time at night and with a good signal too with Global Tuners on a receiver in the southern California desert, an area that is also free of the usual interference.

Hope you have a great time.
