As of this time all Dayton area news outlets are covering a reported mass shooting in the area.
THis is one of the rare cases where a local news outlet may have had to pre-empt national breaking news for local breaking news due to local mass shooting reasons.

All I have to say is .... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!! Two mass shootings in not even 24 hours? We need peace in this world NOW. Enough of this. RIP to the victims. :(

The Last time you seen local tv stations having to pre-empt national breaking news was because local Washington DC TV stations having to cancel National coverage of 9/11 in NYC for the Pentagon attack on the same day in 2001.

This is one of a rare situation where local news outlets had to pre-empt national news for local disasters and in in both cases the victims had no way to prepare for the attack.

It's not really something one can prepare for. Or if you're preparing, you're likely to be the next protagonist.

Cox Media Group is running coverage on all of their Dayton stations (WHIO AM/FM, WHKO, WZLR), some of it simulcast from WHIO-TV, some not. iHeart had coverage from WDTN with a local announcer when I checked WTUE; the iHeart studios are in the immediate area of the shooting.

Disney has announced to delay a video game tournament that ABC and ESPN were going to air but has been moved to October due to mass shootings in California, Mississippi, Texas and Ohio.

The 'Apex Legends' EXP Invitational was scheduled to air this weekend on the networks.
Following multiple mass shootings over the weekend and a public condemnation of "gruesome and violent video games" by President Donald Trump on Monday, ESPN and ABC have opted to pull the broadcast of X Games Apex Legends EXP Invitational that was scheduled this weekend, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Rod Breslau was the first to report the news on Twitter.

The event has been rescheduled for October.
