I was traveling through Dayton, and heard "Max" FM, broadcasting on two signals (97.7 & something else)...

Anyone have the scoop on who owns them? Are they Dayton, or Cincinatti? Thanks!

First Broadcasting out of Dallas Texas, and their in the Cinci area but don't cover cinci proper completely.

One of the stations is the former WOXY. I can't remeber the other off the top of my head.

The others are WAXZ Georgetown, also on 97.7, and WAOL Ripley on 99.5. WAXZ was formerly a country station, and WAOL classic country, mostly targeting Brown County and nearby areas. WOXY's history is fairly well known.

First is programming them until they get finished moving the WAXZ and WOXY towers around, then they will likely sell all three stations. They are a "radio investment bank" who exists solely to make money from move-in and resale of stations, so the "Max" format is mainly something to park on the signals until they can be resold.

Thanks for the 4-1-1. I had forgotten about the old 97-X frequency. Wonder who they'll sell too... any thoughts?
