Dayton Ratings

Saw the new Dayton ratings posted and Main Line is back which gives us a more realistic look of how everyone is competing.

Cox: K99 still their powerhouse and will remain #1 for awhile as far as I'm concerned.
WHIO took a big hit, people tired of the same ol Rush and Hannity carrying on? We'll see next book if they leap at all with carrying the Browns games.
The Eagle never has been a ratings hit, but maybe with the added frequency, it'll help? We shall see. Give it another book.

CC: Only big things I wanna point out here is Channel back up in the 5's now with Steven Lewis programming it during the day. Big 106.5 has to be the smartest thing they put on that frequency because not only is it doing well, it's swatting at Fly pretty well. What's up with The X? Time to dump the dying rock format that doesn't seem to work in this market, or maybe is it because they flipped to the tiring alternative format? I'd love to see them put on a Urban or rhythmic to compliment Channel and take a few shares off Hot. Will B945 hurt K? Give it another book and we will see. Hey, WONE has .7!

Main Line: Hot #2 and probably #1 18-34 and doing well 25-44. Possibly due to their contest they have going on? We'll see.
WROU: Took a bit of a hit, but still sounding pretty solid.
Wouldn't say it's safe to say Fly is done, but let it drop in the 2's and maybe we'll see Z come back? Maybe that's just a dream I had.
Click --- needs to keep clicking into an Adult CHR direction.
No need to mention ESPN, it's doing what it's there to do.

New ratings next month around the 7th. Let's see what happens.

Not specifically this post--- but why the fascination with CLICK? They get almost as much board time as exciting things like WDJO and The Mighty Low Power ClassX--- Paaluuuzee....

BTW--congrats to WDSJ--- Signal and alll, another nice showing---thanks for having me on your air!

Ding, ding, ding! :)

The ratings weren't bad when the station mostly played Active Rock. The ratings tanked within six months of going alt/indie and have only gotten worse with passage of time.

Take WEBN's playlist, strip out the 1 or 2 classic rock songs an hour that 'EBN plays, and put that on 103.9 and the ratings will improve almost instantly. The X's core audience hates the direction the station has taken musically. To this day, there is overwhelmingly negative feedback on the station's Facebook page.

They flipped it to Alternative because the format is more popular than Active Rock, and it's a lot easier to sell. I think they should go in a 96 Rock direction.

It's not "easier to sell." Modern Rock's power ratios are notoriously bad.
