Dayton Smooth Jazz DJs all gone

Finally over...after the fulltime staff got blown out in early December, the weekenders get their due, all did their last shows last weekend. So 35 year market vet Clay the Cooker Collins with that great Sunday Jazz Brunch gets replaced by Kenny G piped in from the Smooth Jazz Network and the other DJs replaced by the very artists they played. No local jocks whatsoever on there now. I hope Clay pops up someplace else maybe a little bit more loyal. Strapping on a satellite is low maintenance and cheap. oh well. Her'es to you Clay, they didn't have to do that to you. And all the others there.

My grandpa is Joe Woodford. Great friends with Clay. He actually comes and visits quite often and goes to Jazz fests and record stores with us in Columbus when I'm up there. He's a great guy. I've known him for quite a bit. I believe he may still work at CSU.. not sure. When he took me up to CC Dayton a few years back he still had his job in sales. It's sad because a great friend lost his job when his show was excellent. Their rating is also good.

:'(
I hate to see anyone lose their job. Smooth Jazz 106.5 was a great station with the local jocks. Last book with local jocks did a 2.4, tying heritage Radio One CHR WGTZ. Too bad to see all these people gone. I hope they end up on their feet somewhere.
