Dayton Trend

All I can say is WOW! WGTZ/Fly 92.9 jumps from a 3.2(Its last book as Z-93)to a 3.9. This has to make Mainline at least a tad happy. Seven-tenths of a point in just three months. This is one of the higher ratings that 92.9 has had in quite some time. Last time 'GTZ cracked a 4 share was late '02 I think. They are now 8th in the market. I bet Fly will continue to soar and eat away at 'MMX, which has really greatly improved lately with the great competition between them and Fly. I find myself flipping back and forth between both of them here lately. Good to finally see some excitement and change in Dayton radio for the first time in awhile. 8)

It'll be interesting to see what Fly does in its first full book. I'm wondering if they have any plans to sprinkle in some air talent. I would like to hear them at least fill the two drive-time slots to bring some new energy to what's already being done. If they're willing to pay a little bit (by paying, I mean salary AND moving someone here from wherever they are and not just trying to find somebody close JUST because it's convenient and cheap), they could get a couple of really solid jocks on there and crank the excitement level up a notch. Personally, I'm getting to the point where the excitement of the newness is wearing off and think they need to take the next step in trying to make this a real competitor in the market.

As I said in another thread, Mainline will probably fill Mornings and Afternoons...and maybe more. I wouldn't say this unless I had a good source. 8)
