DDN Says MMX, TUE & ONE Up For Grabs

This does not mean these stations are up for grabs. It's simply the application to transfer control from Clear Channel as it IS to the NEW Clear Channel as it WILL BE. Those stations are NOT available. The stations that the DDN says are "unaffected" are the ones they will be spinning off. if you read the PDF file from the FCC, you'll see that it contains EVERY station in the company, including all of the Cincinnati stations. They aren't all up for grabs. And actually the FCC file also mentions WLQT.

Mix TUE and WONe are not going anywhere. They will be under the new Clear Channel. Once again DDN does something without researching it enough.

My apologies then for any confusion on my part. The way the article is written had me believe otherwise. BTW, I only did a word search on Dayton in the doc, that's how I missed LQT. It is listed under Kettering.

Again, sorry.

True.

The FCC also said that they cannot bring back in stations they spun off to Aloha Trust after the sale. Clear Channel will be selling entire markets sometime within the next year because Bain doesnt want all that they are buying. Clear Channel Dayton is profitable, but they can make more money by selling those and they know that.

Now Clear Channel may surprise us and under an anonymous name buy 99.9 and 104.7, but overall...Bain doesnt want to spend money. They want to cut stations from their roster. Dayton is more of a for sale asset than a banking asset.

Are there any Cincinnati stations that CC will spin off? I thought WNNF was one in the Aloha Trust but its not listed as one. Do you think Bain would sell Cincinnati later on down the road?

radioaj...The DDN did a decent job. Our poster just misread it. The article does not say that the stations will be sold. It clearly states that they will go to the new Clear Channel owner.

We all have days im certain :) However, no fear....Clear Channel (oops, I mean Bain) doesnt want Dayton. To be exact, they have had a couple parties come in and look at things. I heard the most recent was a group just east of Dayton who owns a cluster in Columbus. They go by the name Radiohio. It would fit them well I assume!

I think the last time they bought anything was in 1975! (WTHR in Indianapolis)
