Dead Air Every Hour on WLAN-AM?

back on memorial day in may, we had a cookout and forgot to bring along the satellite radio, so we surfed the dial and landed about 1390 AM playing their cool satellite mix of soft AC and soft oldies. it was an older crowd so everyone enjoyed the station. but every damn hour, after the network news at the top of the hour, there was about 60 seconds of dead air, as if there was supposed to be a computer drop at that point but it was missing. oh well. i figured it was a one day mistake.

well just this past labor day, guess what. the family got together again and we decided to have 1390 as our backdrop again. and guess what. dead air after every newscast! is this a regular thing or something that only happens on holidays? lol either way, very unprofessional. i had to explain to my less than radio privy family who thought the station was live and local that the station is nothing more than a computer picking up a bird and obviously someone at the station doesn't care about the dead air every hour. they were stunned. LOL poor people who think radio is real. anyway, not professional on LAN-AM's part.
