Deadline.com: Roseanne Barr to develop/star in new comedy for NBC

NBC appears to still be digging its hole deeper.

Is Roseanne someone's cousin or does she have big, glossy photo's of an NBC exec? How the hell does this no-talent keep getting TV shots? ::)

People who run for President seem to catch all the breaks in Showbiz.

Mike Huckabee (FOX News, daily radio show)
Herman Cain (daily radio show)
Al Gore (Current, "Inconvenient Truth")
Roseanne Barr (new NBC Comedy)

Many of the others who have run recently are still in politics (Sen. John McCain, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, Gov. Rick Perry, V.P. Joseph R. Biden, Sec. Hillary Rodham Clinton)

Just waiting for a reality show starring former Senator Rick Santorum.

If she could get Bob Saget or Joey Gadstone or Tony Danza or so on as her Hubie on the Show would be good and the it might make it.

NBC has been doing better in the ratings lately, so their "hole" is actually getting shallower. Whether or not, Roseanne is a good idea, I can't say. I doubt I'll be watching.

Her original show is still very popular in syndication. I would have thought Roseanne would eventually get another show but something on the lines of a new TV Land sitcom.

The new show could be strong and viable, a flop or anywhere in between. It really depends, but she is still famous/known which would be a draw.

NBC will have a sitcom starring Michael J. Fox, Matthew Perry and Roseanne, which are sitcom star alums essentially.

Is this the sitcom idea for Roseanne Barr that was being talked about a year or two ago....the one where she's living in a trailer park?

If she gets the green light for the show....I hope she takes Tom Werner with her. That way, he'll have something else to focus on besides his constant meddling with the TV arm of The Boston Red Sox.

Roseanne airs on tvland, CMT, & we. We shows all day marathons every Saturday & both tvland & cmt have long marathons at various times too.

Regardless if you liked it or not, the show was a hit, and can be considered a tv classic now. With that said however the truth about that show was After her former Husband Tom Arnold left the show she got more & more control over it, and the show went downhill in the latter yrs with the 2 bf's havning more airtime then the daughters. Ending with that awful last season when they were rich. Apparently Roseanne considers that her favorite season.

So I guess what i'm getting at is this show will probably be a success if if has good writers & producers. Maybe a more modern Roseanne. However if Roseanne has all the creative control this will probably be a Roseanne's nuts repeat.

Tim Allen is having a second sitcom stint, and they somehow let Chevy Chase back on television. Why not Roseanne?
