...it's waaay past time to "86, release the 18 tons, pull the lever on the trap door" on "Happy".....he's waaay to slow on the uptake with your sound cuts. Have Entercom break down and actually PAY someone to work the board ( yeah right!)

I wonder if 'RKO has a "sound board"--a screen where all you have to do is mouse over to a certain link and it plays right away. (The Mark Levin fan forum had something like that, but for some reason the page is down. Just point your mouse over a certain point on THAT board, when it was up, and you'd hear everything
from Levin's "Get off the phone, you big dope!" to Ted Kennedy's "Hello?
Hello", etc. A pretty fast way to get those sound clips up there.

Of course maybe they go to Howie's pages about Menino, Kerry, and Ted K and
get the clips from there.

The show is absolutely unlistenable. Does VB have that much on the ball
that his absence has left a vacuum? Who was that "Tattoo" person,
and what's the real name of "Happy"?

96.9 could really clean-up if they knew how to take advantage of Howie's
downward spiral

96.9 gave howie a free ticket to ride. More power to him if all WTKK can come up with is Michael Graham. Graham will last all of six months and begone.

As to Don Gillis - he is Gary's father.... Also, the Number One Sportscaster in Boston until he retired about 10 years ago. See also - Candlepins For Cash.

Today I did a little overtime at the post office; I knew I'd be throwing packages and I can't pick up WRKO in that part of the building, so I brought a
recordable Walkman and taped Howie (in a place where I COULD pick it up), then listened to a bit of Grahamcrackers
on a diff. Walkman as I worked. It was OK, but he's no Howie.

I do remember Don Gillis but apparently the mayor (who now has trouble
pronouncing the name of his city--PAW-stin???) didn't. That was from one
of the late Andy Moes' shows when his good friend the Mayor was on and
someone called in (this is on the MumblesMenino.cc site, I think) asking,
IIRC, if someone could pay tribute to a great sportscaster, Don Gillis.
Menino replied, "Who (sic) Don Gillis?"

I still like Howie. Where else can you hear Chris Wallace declare he has
a "man-crush" on the governor? :) Tattoo and Happy (don't know their
real names) are board-ops/asst. producers, or something

Wrong bowling show. "Candlepins for Cash" was the syndicated-format vehicle for Channel 7 sportcaster Bob Gamere. Don Gillis hosted the Saturday-midday "Candlepin Bowling" show on Channel 5.
