We've intercepted some letters to santa from some of the radio folks here in NNE. Let's open some up and take a look.....

Dear Santa:
Our request as a group is simple. Who is going to own us next year?

Thanks,
Clear Channel/Burlington
PS--Could you please have Corm and the Coach show up to do a guest appearance on their show occassionally?

Dear Santa:
I know we bought WIZN and The Buzz to dominate the world here in Burlington but I don't like it. I have to work. Please sell them for me. Thanks.

DD

Dear Santa:

We need your help. How do we run radio stations with absolutely no bodies? We're trying but can't seem to get there yet. please Santa...tell us!

Who at the X would have written to Santa? Goldman's Jewish, and I'm sure that Hamilton is getting a lump of coal.

Dear Santa,

I'd like our local AM station to provide good or at least an attempt at reasonable 'W-Rip and Read" news.. It's pretty sad to be hearing a talk show like Dennis Miller in the afternoon, with no less than the group's ops manager (The professor) voicing an intro / preview to the news, playing a commercial, followed with the Professor's computer generated wx forecast.. WHERE'S THE BOTTOM HOUR NEWS ? This happens just about every day.. Very annoying, and shows a lazy 'who cares about the AM' type attitude..

Dear Santa:

Would you please tell all of these schmucks in radio that this is not what I had in mind. I wish I had invented velcro at least that is still useful. ;)

You know what I'd like for Christmas? Goldman's tax return. He runs Sison like it's a public corporation, yet he doesn't seem to realize that it's a small-market duopoly. There are no shareholders. He can't cook the books. He pockets all the leftovers. I'd love to see how much he keeps for himself while running a cheap operation.

Dear Santa -

Could you, maybe, have the elves send me a few more voice-trackers at, say, $8 an hour for next year for this cluster and many others? The $10 an hour ones gripe too much and sound ... well, like they're "voice tracking."

Tourists don't fill out diaries.

While we're at it...

Dear Santa...

Please make the Wizard cool again, please put Jamie Scavotto on a Boston station, and get Perry Sporn a damn music bed.

Dear Santa...

If it's possible to provide a few more programming options for Northern New England Radio stations who are trying to sound like their competion...COULD YOU?

Unless listeners have satellite radio (where there are unlimited options)...local radio stations don't have a lot to offer?
THANKS!

argytunes (who has been good this year!).

Tourists don't fill out diaries.

nor do people in the overnights from midnight to 6am when he would be on
Happy Holidays

For Jamie...

Does the success or failure of ANY radio format completely depend upon diary numbers, advertising dollars, listener interest, or ALL 3?!

Despite the technological improvements...radio has always been the theatre of the mind! It provides listeners with the option of using their heads (aka their imagination) or the ability to express an immediate opinion.

I guess if Santa could choose the right households to deliver diaries to...this could make or break most radio stations? But since that's not possible, maybe we should listen to our stations a little closer? And maybe honestly ask ourselves the question: IF I WASN'T CONNECTED IN SOME WAY TO THE BROADCAST GROUP WHO EMPLOYS ME...WOULD I WANT TO LISTEN TO THE PROGRAMMING IT PROVIDES? ???

argytunes

P.S to Underminer....Merry Christmas to you as well! ;)

I listened to the Wizard on Monday and Tuesday. Looks like I didn't get my wish.

Also, Star, I don't want to hear "Here Comes Santa Claus" at 4 PM on December 26th. I know it's Tesh, but make it stop.

And Triple X, if Nickelback wanted "Rockstar" to have an intro, they would have given it one. If you're not going to talk over it, stop messing with the music.

I notice that certain people on this board live to cut down a certain radio station because he or she was not good enough to; as they have said in their own words "crack the mic" on. My Christmas wish to Santa is: for that person to realize, That that station was the best thing, and will be the best thing, that will ever happen to that person in their life. They can say what they want and wish what they want about said radio station, but the fact remains that at the end of the day the radio station in question is doing GREAT radio and the person saying nothing but bad things about said radio station is still wishing they could still be a part of it. Santa if you could bring this person a girlfriend or boyfriend i promise I will be nothing but nice in 2008. Thank you.

PS Santa, Can I have a plasma TV and an HD radio too?

Thanks Santa say Hello to Mrs. Clause and hope you had fun traveling around the world dropping off gift this week.

Talent is subjective.

How many drinks did you have before you posted this?

They're doing good radio. They're not doing GREAT radio.

and the person saying nothing but bad things about said radio station is still wishing they could still be a part of it.

Oh yes, I hate that I make 30 large to work 3 hours a day in Boston. Can I please move back to Vermont and make 23 to work 8 hours a day?

Santa if you could bring this person a girlfriend or boyfriend i promise I will be nothing but nice in 2008. Thank you.

I'm not a relationship guy. How 'bout a hooker?
