You’re clueless.

In your other post you mention Robin Lee taking the fall. Her fall came about a decade too late. Under Robin’s ‘leadership’ WZZO went from a solid #2 in the market to #5 in a five way race. Tori was left with a big mess to clean up thanks to her predecessor, and some of that mess left nasty stains.

Tori is doing just fine.

Sounds like you, on the other hand, really need that colonic…

I really wouldn't say Tori is that bad. Why all this hatred for her and WZZO? I'm sure there are plenty of listeners who are entertained by her. Just because you're not she should go?

You mentioned in another post about running cliche promos and what not, so sorry if this is too 'cliche' for you... but if you don't like her or WZZO just change the station! You have plenty of options. There's the other L.V stations, the philly stations come in pretty well, cd/ipod, hell get sirius or something. However, even though you seem to not like her or the station, you sure know a hell of a lot about what she does and what zzo's doing. So I'm assuming you continue to listen?

There are plenty of DJs I'm not into, but when they come on the air, I just change it. No big deal.

gsf, you're missing the point. this message board is about expressing your opinions and talking about what you think is good AND BAD about your local radio market. i think "loaded gun" is right about a lot of his/her observations. and jeff, Tori didn't take the PD post from Robin. Rick Strauss was the PD (for a 2nd time) for a couple of years in between them. i don't think that's what "loaded gun" meant by "taking the fall." and for the record, i met robin a few times and she obviously had a lot of passion for her job and a lot of love for ZZO specifically.

Tori Thomas has obviously lost her mind thinking that bringing in Eddie Trunk will solve their problems. She needs to step down for she has brought nothing but confusion and carelessness to WZZO. Robin Lee took the fall for her and she should muster up any pride she has left as PD and step down. She thinks the Lehigh Valley is just a bunch of low life hicks who love to listen to Ratt and Poison all day long, she is willing to sell the public short by running cliche promos and giving away beer all the time. The Lehigh Valley is more than a crotch grabbing, low life, beer drinking, burping slob Tori, get a clue and do something about it.

I drive thru this market twice a week on the way out 78 to Harrisburg, so I monitor. Heres what I see as the breakdown in this market between the "rockers".. (I do listen to Cat country some and then WMUH and WYSP as well, and then a few others...) I still see WZZO as the leader as far as imaging and selection in this market. Bone is an obvious cheap attempt at taking out 'ZZO w/ a cheesy and bad syndicated morning show Vs. Bearman and Keith, although I'll take Michaels and Lane in 2nd in the market and then O & A 3rd on YSP.
FB& HW a distant 7-8 in a 5 horse race....

I'll take Tori over the Hawks midday chick (not sure of her name) cause she does have a friendly personality on air... (Hawks midday girl not too bad... just no content.. not my cup of tea..dry, maybe..)

I remember Rick Strauss from the 80s and his 2nd time in the 90s.. he kinda lisped on air, and seemed kinda like an Adam Curry wanna be on air wise... Robin Lee outright sucked the life out of the place I thought because WZZO sounded schizoid, all sloppy all over the place (Poison into Tools- Sober into Tuesday Afternoon-Moody Blues!???) as one example after being stuck on rt 22 heading west for 3 hours one afternoon.. Although during Rick Strauss's run in the late 80s he had Todd Heft, Stosh, B & K, Kim Douglas.... great line up !!!

Seems like Yhellotheres post might have been a little rough on gsf... If you look at the overall long term of the FMs in market (1977-2007) You'll see WZZO has dominated, WLEV had a great run as well as WFMZ (remember them??) Just looked it up on line before, WQQQ-(now the Hawk, has had a great run recently as well..!!) (and todays WCTOs, WODEs, WAEBs, WLEVs..etc)

Bottom line, seems like a competitive market, all having carved decent niches now. Radio is definitely trendy by nature, todays favorite songs are yesterdays Starland Vocal Bands, and formats fall in and out of favor.
Just gotta figure what the market is and grab it if you see it far ahead enough.But always enough "Free Radio" to listen to while passing thru. Always fun to watch, and listen to in analog!!! What a concept...

lets see.. clear channel fires the biggest commercial biller (ken matthews) and chases off its work horse in the evenings (chris line) and u think tori is the problem?? did it ever occur to u that this was the "new" management ingenius idea to get rid of lehigh valley staples?? i'd be more concerned that bearman and keith are next to get the axe caus they wanna cut further costs instead of supporting the true talent in the first place.
