Death Cab for Cutie

A staple of today's alternative rock? Yes/no?

Narrow Stairs was on many people's top lists of albums of 2008. Does your local alt play DCFC? Or are they still stuck in the notion that Nickelback is really alternative?

Narrow Stairs was great. I think a lot of people feel they are part of that annoying breed of totally polite, plod-along "indie rock" (see: The Shins) but I think they've pushed themselves forward with each release.

Unfortunately, "Chad" (or whoever) who lives in South Carolina and wears muscle shirts probably doesn't like them interrupting the Seether, Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry run on his local "alternative" station.

Then the aforementioned "Chad" should listen to the correct "Active rock" station. ;D
