Just noticed in Tom Taylor's newsletter that Jeff Brooks has died at the age of 63. He spent many years in the Bay area...at several stations..one of the genuine "good guys:..He'll be missed, Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends..

The origional motor head... talked with him numerous times on the air as far back as 1980 or so... He grew up and spent a lot of time on Bradenton area... VERY knowledgable about automotive related topics... Saved me lots of money over the years... A pleasure to talk with...
Was on 1450 - WSPB, 1420 - WBRD, and 1280 - WTMY locally over the years...
Lung cancer. I worked with Jeff at Sun Radio Network and until about 6 weeks ago at BTRN. He was a great guy a fine broadcaster and loved his audience.
Wow....that's the second car show host in 2 months. Dave McBride, co-host of Sam's Garage radio show and Two Guys Garage on Speed TV passed away in April.
Always enjoyed "On The Road" as it was one of the premier car repair shows on the radio. I used to download the podcasts for listening on long road trips. The time would fly when listening to those podcasts. Jeff will surely be missed.
Jeff also was program director at WPLP 570 during the transition between the Johnson family ownership and Guy Gannett Broadcasting.
The list of RIP's for that feisty little station is a long sad roll call: Tim Coles, Harry Cup, David Fowler, Bob Lassiter and now Jeff Brooks. The last I heard John Eastman wasn't long for this world and I thought I heard that Jack Wheeler had also passed. Does anyone know anything about those two?
Amazing how time flies.
