Death to Pirates

Florida notwithstanding, the state may not have the power to suppress radio pirates, but it should go after their advertisers. The state legislature should impose a heavy fine on anyone who advertises on an unlicensed broadcast station in Massachusetts.

That ought to take the wind out of the pirates' sails, and help out legitimate broadcasters and their listeners who are suffering interference.

The mayor of Boston RULES !!!!!!! Who going to fine the mayor ? No one !!!!

When the State and local government is in bed with the pirates, even when the state agency was told flat out that they were in bed with an illegal operation, it's hard to get them to do anything.

The MBTA partnered with Touch one year to do the Fill a Bus campaign after CC wouldn't partner with them anymore, they needed the time for ads, not PSA's.

The year before I left the T, I personally appealed to Peter Smyth of Greater Media to put in on one of GM's Boston stations, and he did direct WBOS to do the promotion. I don't know what station the T went with last year as I had retired and wasn't in the mood to fight with 10 Park Plaza over it again, especially since Dan Grabauskas was no longer in charge. Dan was a reasonable person, the new regime... no way

Menino is in bed with more than one pirate

New Jersey has a similar law that Florida does but who in local law enforcement really knows what they are doing when it comes to RF?
Radio goes beyond broadcasting.

Try to purchase a local spot through any of the licensed stations without buying their entire station lineup. Local sponsors should be able to buy local commercials. It's only friggen radio.

Local Ownership !!! Local D.J's !!!! Local Jobs available !!! PIRATE RADIO RULES !!!

I'm not so sure about "jobs". How does an illegal entity provide for legal employment? But, local dj's and local volunteerism, YES!
