Deathwatch: Harlan Ellison

...the award-winning writer (Burke's Law, The Outer Limits, Star Trek, The New Lawyers, The Starlost, the '80s revival of The Twilight Zone, Babylon 5, and some of the most entertaining hours Tom Snyder ever hosted on Tomorrow and The Late Late Show) claims that, after this weekend's MadCon in Madison, Wisconsin, he's never appearing in public again because he's dying -- http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/article.php?article=30610 :-( ...

You never know with Harlan Ellison...he could be exaggerating, because if you've ever heard him speak you know he'll say stunning or outrageous things just to see how people will react. Hope that's what he was doing this time, 'cause if he ever does check out and join Tom Snyder in the big cocktail bar in the sky, the world will be a less interesting place.

Interesting topic for a thread: "Deathwatch".

Ghouls

Ordinarily, I'd agree, but Ellison's being outrageously forthcoming about the situation. He's started his own deathwatch, and I suspect he's inviting us to join the fun.
