WLNK moves into #1 cume. WHQC moves into the 3’s for the first time in a while. Also ahead of WNKS.

Shocking to see WKQC not take the cume lead with Christmas music. Quite a dip compared to last year, which appears to be the case in multiple markets. Their unfocused Christmas playlist probably didn’t help them. Gotta wonder if WLKO stays the course next year. It’s clearly among the most popular music stations in Charlotte, and that’s a significant dip for them. We’ll see how the Holiday book shakes out for them…

25-54: 1. WFNZ 2. WEND 3. WPEG 4. WBAV 5. WOSF 6. WKQC (flat) 9. WLKO (lowest total in over a year)
18-34: 1. WPEG 2. WFNZ 3. WBAV 4. WEND 5. WSOC 8T. WKQC 12. WLKO
18-49: 1. WPEG 2. WEND 3. WBAV 4T. WFNZ & WKQC (highest since January) 6. WSOC 9T. WLKO & WNKS

K104 had a bad year. Probably affected the Christmas bump. 102.9 fared worse. Dropped all the way to #9 in 2 demos and #12 in a 3rd. Cume on both Christmas stations was down year over year and compared to previous month.

K104 will still win the Holiday book I’m sure, but we’ll see how much they decline compared to previous years.

Will be interesting to see how all the stations fare in January when they change the threshold from 5 to 3 minutes. I’m sure younger leaning stations will get a bump.

At my bank they were listening to WLKO (before Christmas music) but the radio was on WKQC the last time I was there, after Christmas music was over.

I'm sure WKQC will still win the Holiday book, they were flat or up in the demos while WLKO was way down, but still has to be concerning for Beasley considering WKQC is usually #1 across the board in December and the Holiday books. WKQC was struggling last year too, and they were still #1 both months.

Just noticed that WFNZ had its highest 6+ share in 20 years, since 2004 - and that was right after "Q92.7" stole the Tom Joyner Show from WBAV which may have been a fluke in the ratings.
