"Decades" gets cable coverage

The latest Diginet from Wigel Broadcating (this one in partnership with CBS) has been picked up by Charter, who also carries Wigel's THIS, but has yet to carry MeTV on any of its systems (even though it gets lots of requests on its Facebook page)

Obtaining cable carriage of these digital broadcast networks is generally handled by the local station carrying the network. So cable coverage will vary from market to market. Charter not carrying MeTV in your market is a problem specific to your market, because there are plenty of Charter systems around the country that do carry the MeTV programming coming from a local broadcast channel. Likewise, not every Charter system is now carrying Decades, since Decades isn't even available on a local channel in every market Charter serves.

Cable cos are very reluctant to add .2 diginets to their lineup because then people will clue into the fact that TVLand and Nick@Nite are commercial frontloaded trash in comparison.
Keep the customers stupid and paying their bill on time is their motto.

It's the same reason when there's a squabble about transmission fees for local stations they NEVER mention the fact that most people can plug in a set of bunny ears and not miss a trick.

Providers like Verizon Fios and ATT U-Verse have no problem piping the diginets in.
Even Dish and Direct TV do too to some extent.

I have ME-TV on my cable system even though it's not available OTA in Detroit. It kept me from considerng a move to Comcast.

Charter in Jackson, TN carries all the subchannels from WREG (Antenna TV and their 24/7 news channel) and WMC (Bounce and This until the first of this year when they switched to Grit) in Memphis and WBBJ in Jackson (CBS and Me TV as filler ). They also carried the subchannel that was on WJKT in Jackson (first Cool TV then Live Well) until it was dropped by Nexstar. Some posters have said WJKT carries Bounce now, but I haven't been able to get it OTA even though I live about 2 miles away from their tower, and Charter already carries it from WMC anyway. But they don't carry Movies from WHBQ in Memphis. So I believe that they make deals with the individual stations to carry their subchannels.

Unfortunately I don't think Charter carries LP stations, even if they're on one of the big 4 networks. They still don't carry WNBJ in Jackson even though they're on NBC.
