Christmas music #1 !

WWBX appears.

WRKO & WODS get a little boost.

WBOS continues downward.

2 things stick out.... the right side with the ownership names, seems strange to see Entercom on top... ( and CBS missing from the list RIP)

also WRKO going over 3 for the first time since I can't remember

Likely due to Siegel covering for Krazy K0000nah. People tune in to actually learn something, rather than listen to silly voices.

Yes a screwup, and I think it was only last week or so WRKO appeared on 100.7 HD2..and owner of 1030 is listed as Entercom though maybe it technically is until FCC approves sale to iHeart

Huh? Where do you see that?

I don't get it. Why would Beasley want to sell WBOS to EMF? I understand that EMF would like to have a presence in Boston, but wasn't able to pick up any of the divestitures from the CBS Radio-Entercom merger in Boston due to the DOJ settlement. But still, I didn't see anything that EMF is buying WBOS.

You'd think WXRV would be a likelier buy-out target for the K-Love gang.

Looks like WBOS will get bought out by EMF.
Poor ratings/revenue won't coax Beasley to sell off a strong market-covering signal within a cluster. If anything, they'll continue to tweak the format or even flip it to something else. Is there a chance they could flip it to AC at some point in 2018? They clearly know how to program and sell the format to Boston.

I did read on Fybush's website that Beasley could return the WBCN calls to Boston since they acquired 98.5 The Sports Hub from Entercom and that the WBCN intellectual property is on the HD2 channel of 98.5, it would make sense for ALT 92.9 to become WBCN if Beasley makes changes to that station.

WBOS's problem isn't the format. It's the execution of the format. Here's what should change:

Drop the awful morning show; it's ruined the 92.9 brand for many loyal listeners, especially female and educated listeners.

Freshen the music. When you tune in, chances are you'll hear a burned out 90s song you don't want to hear again. Grunge doesn't work with today's alternative sound, which is not centered around hard, gloomy rock.

Play more melodic music. As writer Sean Ross has noted, alternative has shifted toward pop. Embrace that. That means attracting more female listeners (and dumping the morning show which puts them off).

The MD should be listening to how good the new Alt 92.3 sounds in NYC. Give Amy Brooks some better music to play.

Connect with the audience and make listening to the station sound essential.

Toronto and LA can support two alternative stations. Boston, with all its young adults, should have an alternative station that pulls better than a 1.6 on a full stick. Even WFNX did better than this with a lousy signal. Beasley has diminished the station since taking it over; they are incompetent.

Can’t they just strike some deal with the Globe to syndicate/partner with RadioBDC? The fact Adam 12 isn’t on-air at 929 is absolute madness.

I think it could be said that the airing of the morning show from Detroit coincided with the downward slide at WBOS. Bostonians don't seem to connect with whatever they're talking about in Detroit.
