December 5: This Day in TV History

Just a few random TV related events that happened on December 5. Discuss or comment as you please……

1921: Actor Alvy Moore (Green Acres) is born (as Jack Alvin Moore) in Vincennes, Indiana.

1954: CFQC-TV (channel 8 ) signs on in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

1954: KVOO-TV (channel 2, later KTEW-TV, now KJRH) launches in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

1958: WTOL-TV (channel 11) begins operations in Toledo, Ohio.

1971: KCBJ-TV (channel 17, now KMIZ) signs on in Columbia, Missouri.

1985: Actor Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle) is born in Woodridge, New Jersey.

(Just a little featurette I hope to do as time permits. It’s an entirely random selection based on a quick Net search, and is not meant to be comprehensive. So, don’t post nasty messages about “you forgot THIS” or “how could you not mention THAT?” Do so, and I’ll just take my keyboard and go home…..) ;)
