They beat ESPN.

Speaking of the Fan, I hate their new commercials that say they are the "official station of the Texas Rangers [insert long pause here........] fan".

This will show my ignorance, but, how come WBAP shows 645,800 ? The station above it is approx 1.2 million & the station below it is 919,700. Are BAP's listeners listening for longer periods of time ?

Exactly. Share (or "rating") are derived from time spent listening and cume. Low cume and high TSL achieve the same potential as high cume and low TSL.

Out today... wonder how The Fan's ratings held up after the World Series???

The Fan could flip to Alternative and bring back the old Live slogan like Live 105 in San Francisco but keep Jagger, it could blow The Edge out of the water. Any thoughts?

I have a question about ratings, even though it deals with another market.
How can a station from the Miami-Fr. Lauderdale market show up in the ratings for Austin?
If it was listenership over the internet, I would think they would list it as a stream like they do for other internet streams. If it was a distant AM station, I could understand.. but this is an FM sttation. WKLG-FM shows up with a 0.1 share in Austin for some reason on the data posted on this website. (see here: http://www.radio-info.com/markets/austin ) Is this just an error on the website?

If the listener had one of Arbitron's fancy pager listening devices, and if the Miami station's web stream included their PPM encoder, I guess that'd be possible. Either that or a lot of skip! :D

I didn't see KSOC. Are they doing that bad?

A station's internet stream would show up as "WLYF-FM STREAM" for example. Streams are encoded separately from their terrestrial signals, so if a terrestrial station shows up in another market it is most likely because a panelist travelled to that particular market and stations from that market registered enough listening to meet the minimum reporting criteria.

94.5 is going to be neighbors with the devil if it keep going in that direction....

KTCK took a big dump too, down 0.7 and almost 20% of their cume.
And comments like this show why it is important to look at long term trends.
Yes they're down .7 and 20% of their cume (or 80K people) from November. But they're only down .4 and 8 thousand people compared to October. a couple of percentage points and a few thousand people of cume is statitical wobble. So look slike theyhad a really good book in November, and they're back to usual in December...

Then there's the possibility of a prank that you can be sure somebody has done (or thought about doing) just for amusement: get a PPM, turn if off, then overnight to a friend in a far-flung market. Have them turn it on for two or three days and then send it back.

Anyone got a daypart breakdown? I'd like to see the Musers vs Russ vs Jagger numbers in those all important target demos.

The Morning News finally got around to the numbers. Here's the 25-54 sports numbers...

KTCK was its usual dominant #1. KESN beat KRLD-FM basically in every time slot except the Ben & Skin slot.

I would think that might be because of the new Bottle Rockets show version 2 show starring the Elf n Josh.

By the way why was Josh let go of doing Ranger games? I like the contrast between him n TAG.
