December ratings!

Some notes on the December (even though it only covered a bit of the month) book.
As expected, Fresh takes the holiday train to #1. Magic also makes an impressive move back into the top ten.
No Wings and an especially disappointing year for the Pistons and Lions sends The Ticket from 1 to 6. (Yikes!)
89x gets it's first taste of post-DCTF ratings slump, the Holiday and January books should be quite telling.
Any thoughts? Anything I missed?

Good rundown.

I wonder if the debut of CBS Sports Radio will have any impact on WXYT-AM's ratings when it debuts next month?

A 0.2 for WDFN is pretty bad. Time for a format change there.

Bad news for 89x. As for 97.1, having to talk "All Lions, all the time is hurting them. 99.5 deserves props for hanging near the top with two stations going All-Christmas. 107.5 hasn't made too much noise ratings wise , so that may be a reason that they aren't reporting. As for WDFN making a format switch, I wouldn't expect it.

When did WNIC go back to AC (well, maybe not officially, but still)? They look much more like an upbeat AC than a Hot AC these days to me. Lots of 80s AC staples, ballads, etc. I don't see how it can pass as Hot AC in any way, shape, or form

They were always conservative while Hot AC, but had they stayed AC/"100.3 WNIC", I'd assume this is a sound they would have in 2013.

umfan, If for nothing else, the NHL coming back gives 97.1 the opportunity to break free from Lions talk, and come up with new topics. Clinging on to the crappy season the Lions had, how easy it is to get people to call in on the Lions is just tiring.

They moved back to AC this past fall, perhaps October, IIRC.
Oh, got it. They would've been better staying as WNIC and just evolving with the times instead of attempting the "Fresh" debacle. Never thought they'd go back to Mainstream, though.
