Dee Snyder

Did anyone hear Dee Snyder's show last night. He was telling his listeners how hard the last nine months have been on his family and his personal life. Do you think he is setting himself up to gracefully leave MMR?

I do not listen to his show,I find it extremely uninteresting,
His contract is up in August and If I where a betting man it would not surprise me if he exits and Matt Cord takes over at night, to reinforce my belief with the talk heavy morning show I would think WMMR wants to get back to a more musical direction for the rest of the day

Much agreed. If they renew his contract, that would be the stupidest move they can make. He's driven away listeners in droves, not that he realizes it because his ego is too big to handle that line of thinking.

I read in Billboard magazine that Dee is #1 is his time slot. (they may have been referring to the Philly rock format, I find it hard to believe that he beats every station in Philly). The same article mentions that he does most of his shows from his Long island home, so I don't see how that can be straining on his family. My two cents is that GM paid big $ for Preston & Steve, and that they will let Dee go in August when his contract expires. I would not be surprised if Jaxon moved to nights and Cord became the full time afternoon guy, if the above scenario actually plays out.

WHy would they move Jaxon, Matt Cord is the guy I feel will be on nights.

Matt is the Sixers announcer at night.

That is why he didn't do nights at Y-100.

I was surfing the web and I found this excerpt from an interview with Bill Weston:

"On nighttime personality Dee Snider: "Dee Snider Radio is something that’s hard to tune away from -- sometimes because it’s like a bloody wreck on the highway and other times because it’s great story telling. He’s a promotional publicity machine too." (from: http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=91298)

...like a bloody wreck on the highway? I don't see any way that can be complimentary, even if it's leavened by the next part of the sentence.
