I hear he jumped Seacrest in the KIIS parking lot and beat him to a pulp. He'll be taking back over his morning show Monday morning.

The posters over at Countryboards.com seriously believe he was single handedly responsible for KZLA flipping format. Some claims from those folks include, if I recall, included that Dees invested a lot of money in Emmis so he could flip the station because he hates country music and that the evidence is that when Emmis announced Dees returning to mornings in LA the headline read "Emmis Communications and Dees Entertainment Announce the All New Movin' 93-9". Emmis added Dees Entertainment to the press release sot he announcement sounded like a blockbuster.
Dees to KKGO would be funny, but it's not gonna happen. Dees really has nothing against country. I think the first station he worked at in North Carolina was country. He's too steeped in Top 40 to try anything else.

I think that person was joking, talking nonsense like the rest of the posts in this thread.
Although Rick Dees has never hosted a show doing a country western format the leap should not seem so great those who work or have worked in radio in that there are many radio personalities that listen to or enjoy formats other than the ones they broadcast for. I believe people go where the money is...
As far as your speculation as to what a may feel or believe who are you to say what another's thoughts or opinions are.
How do you know that the person calling themselves TattooQueen here is someone who is a part of the country music message boards at countryboards.com?
I myself am a member of countryboards.com and I will tell you that YES as for me seeing Dee's Entertainment in the press release would lead me to believe that Dee's put his money into the changing of guard (format) of 93.9 FM) but since you so nicely pointed out it was for publicity... IF he did not want the publicity of some to believe that HE had something to do with the flipping of the format he would not have added his name or his company name to the press release other than to state he would be one of the radio personalities on the new station... BUT it goes to the man's integrity just as your constant negative posts written in order to provoke a particular emotional reaction usually also negative from those who read them and respond speaks volumes in regards to yours.
That being said, it seems Rick Dees is staying exactly where he is for the time being and the SO SERIOUS posts prior to and including the one mentioning KKGO are just as an earlier poster said...a

Well said Rebafan. A good jock is a good jock no matter the format. In a time when jocks are allowed less and less time on air to actually be "jocks" it would be nice to give some respect to a man that has had as much longevity as Mr. Dees has. Can't believe all the haters. Have any of the posters who have made all the negative comments had a successful morning show run that long? And in L.A.? just something to think about.
