Defunct Cable TV networks we missed

I remember JC Penney trying their hand at a home shopping channel in the early 90s...not much distribution and I believe it was gone within a couple of years.

I also remember those shopping channels. QVC and Home Shopping Network everybody remembers but what about LSA-TV ?? That stood for LS Ayres an Indianapolis department store chain who had their own regional shopping channel as did The Jones Store Company out of Kansas City and Lazarus out of Ohio.. Sadly all of these stores are now defunct.

Off topic, but I think all three of the stores mentioned have merged into Macy's

Defunct Cable TV Networks We Miss

SportsChannel was a good network. During the day they broadcast their news on a computer generated screen with some very nice instrumental music. I discovered the music pieces had been used on VHS documentaries related to sports. Jose Texeira (I hope I spelled his name right) uploaded a number of these pieces on his YouTube channel. The computer generated news had a MUCH better place than infomercials ever could.

What was also nice about SportsChannel was they seemed down to earth, and that made the events worth watching. Eventually SportsChannel was bought out by Fox Sports in 1998, which in turn was bought out by Comcast.
