defunct radio & TV websites

Both Salisbury,MD and Winchester,VA recently saw the end of their local media-related websites. In both cases the webmasters in charge also worked in radio as well. I imagine both were a case of "..if you want to continue to work here ( in radio )..give up your websites".

Are there many now-defunct websites that faced a similar fate? Other reasons?

On the TV side, there was a site called retromerical.com (?), its now defunct but from what I remember I think that was a case of someone simply losing interest.

Hello,

Actually, the Winchester Radio and TV site is NOT defunct or gone. We are still up and running, but at a new and shorter address. BTVOnline Media is now called SVRTV (Shenandoah Valley Radio and Television) and now at www.svrtv.net We have added some new things to the site and are working daily to transfer everything from the old BTV to the new SVRTV.

Again, we are not defunct...and are still around at www.svrtv.net

Rock on,

Bill died in '99.

His friends still keep the archives as a tribute:

airwaves.com

Look hard enough and you may find my 1994 Usenet
posting about WTMI's late Alvis Sherouse.

Nope. Just looked. It starts in '97. Issue #3635.

Not all that difficult. I can replace the main page of a site with a redirect in less than a minute (had to learn how to do that when a site I manage switched from a "masked" URL to the real one).<P ID="signature">______________

I didn't mean it was hard.

I'm just comparing it to James Crystal, whose station
sites have been alternating between half-ast and
nonexistent since 2004 at least.

At least CC has its shite (UK expression) together
in this respect, I must admit.

They were probably already changing the site as
they broke the news to Kenny.
