DelGiorno to Nashville

Good for him. I hope he's able to make a fresh start there in a positive light.

He and Tulsa were pretty much done with each other.

First post ever is DelG is leaving?
We know one thing... Michael will be the first one to react if its BS...he's a lurker I'm sure ;D

If true... great city to raise a family. Nashville is a great fit for DelG if true.

I moved here about 6 months ago, and love talk radio. DelGiorno is a super talented host. Whenever i seem to bring him up in broadcast cirlces though I get funny looks. Apparently the guy's had some things surface about him here in Tulsa that he wouldn't be able to overcome. A clean slate is just what he needs and I wish him the best of luck.

Not that blogs and such are reliable sources, but one says that Chris Medlock will be the new co-host along with Gwen. With Gwen getting top billing.
Any info? If this is so, I don't expect much to happen in the ratings department. The "kicking people in the teeth" approach KFAQ has had since the
beginning is tired and its time to change their approach. Just an opinion.

Its true

I am sure you all heard but Friday apparently will be DelG's last day. Is this where I apologize for questioning the scoop ;D

Question...If he doesn't do well in Nashville (which we all know he has the talent flourish anywhere) could/would he EVER be welcomed back in Tulsa?

As long as he does real issue-oriented radio and not that Jerry Springer political bent, he'll do fine.

He's intelligently compelling when he will be, and a good entertainer.

I have been enjoying the posts over the last few days.

Here is the scoop: KFAQ wishes Michael the best of luck in Nashville. He will do well and we thank him for his contribution here in Tulsa.

Is KFAQ going to fall. Doubt it. Most radio stations are bigger than any one of its parts. (and personalities.) No offense to anyone, but no station in Tulsa will completely fail with the loss of one personality. KRMG did not fail after Erling left and neither will KFAQ.

Stay tuned for more surprises. We are staying in the format and plan on being successful for many more years to come.

As for the news problems on KXBL: We heard about them too. Things happen. I heard another Tulsa station running a car commercial that expired in January last weekend. We should all pay more attention.

Appreciate your post, JournalGuy. I just hope there's a big, fat raise in there for Gwen. (C'mon Journal, pay up!!) She certainly deserves it. While the politics on KFAQ isn't my cup of tea, I always thought she was an under-appreciated talent. She always sounded better and more in command when MDG was away. And I hope you do something in middays on KXBL. Maybe you have already, I don't get much of a chance to listen middays. Gwen needs to concentrate on her new morning responsibilities. I would broaden the scope beyond the rant politics of MDG. More local interviews rather than personality opinion. Food for thought. Good luck.

I hate to tell everyone but "journalguy" no more works for Journal that "kxojdj" works for Stephens. My guess is both work for direct competitors of same, or at best are wannabes, like so many on these boards.

Cya Michael- good riddance.

I wish him the best in Nashville. It's a great well rounded city with so much more to offer than
Tulsa, not to mention it's a larger market. So he has many advantages with this move. Good luck!
