Delilah Comes To Evenings At WLTW 106.7 FM

and watch LTW's ratings tumble as midwestern sap hits the NYC. airwaves.
Unbelievable...no really, I'm absolutely speechless.
They are playing with the no. 1 rated station in the no. 1 market.

Don't forget!WLTW has the voicetrack version of the show.It is better than playing the entire show(satellite version).I like the fact that you could play your own music and probably play less of her speech content(maybe only twice an hour).I hope that other Delilah stations convert to the voicetrack version.

GOD BLESS THE LITE LISTENERS!!! SHE IS A TRAIN WRECK!!!

Sorry for the caps, but it needs it!!!

Christine Richie should get all the listeners now, hopefully.

I agree I cant believe they're TRYING to sabotage themselves this foolishly. It aint broke, why frickeing fix it?!. Mid western sap is the perfect description of it. She's a nut case. I remember when she started her career at the now defunkt lite ac in Boston where she did nights, and was blown out because she refused to play any alcohol spots being a recovering addict etc. What a fricken nut case!.

When I go home tomorrow to the city, I would like to hear "Delilah" coming to Lite-FM at 106.7. I will record the aircheck of her first day. If not, maybe Matt would do the trick.

There are many stations that are still carrying "Delilah", WEBE (Webe 108) in Westport, CT, WRNQ/WFKP (92.1/99.3 Lite-FM) in Poughkeepsie and Ellenville and WYJB (B 95.5) in Albany.

Those are the few stations that are still carrying "Delilah".

Delilah is awful. There are two ACs that come in loud and clear where I live (WOBM & WFPG), and they both have Delilah on at night. Ocean County (NJ) is a devoutly religious "Northern Bible Belt" type of area, unfortunately, so wherever I go, one of these stations is on and it is just a repulsive, sappy, sickening schmaltzfest. You need to have a really strong stomach to withstand all the drippy sentimentality dished out on this show. The music is horrible, Delilah is sickening and I could care less about her wholesome Christian values - as if she thinks it makes her better than the rest of us.

It's disappointing to see Lite FM go this route. NYC is a different kind of place, one in which this "Midwestern Sap" as it has been correctly identified will not fly. The highest rated station in the #1 market should be live & local at night instead of having its programming piped in from whatever place in the South it's done in. I can't wait to see this station drop in ratings as a result of lame night programming, and I'll be there to say "I told you so".

Soul Crusher,

Is it her voice/music/sappy presentation that you don't like about Delilah, or that she's a "Midwest bible-belt Christian" as you labeled her?

Bingo. So if it is on everywhere you go, whay would a station not want to carry the show?

Lite is going to insert its own music, and with the custom version, can even create the amount of talk they want (all Delilah shows are made up of workparts, as an article in one of the trades showed several years ago... she spends most of her time on the phone, and there are archivists collecting calls for future use by subject, tone, etc.,)

Oh, and the target is women. I somehow suspect you are not in the target.

Again, I ask, why is CC fixing something that's not broken?

I know it has to do with the cuts, but they are messing around with their knight and shining armor!

He was referring to Ocean County, NJ not NYC and the post is about Delilah on WLTW, NYC..so I'm not understanding if you think LITE should carry it because it's popular in a place that is as different to New York as is night to day. Additionally everyone knows that LITE targets women but that doesn't mean that NYC. women want to listen to midwestern sap. I'm not in the target demo of LITE fm either but I can still utilize common sense when I critize the now sold CC's choice of putting a non fitting simulcasted program, even if they only use workparts, on for women in a market that is far too cynical for the sap that is Delilah...common now!

The show works nearly everywhere when done right.

And, if it is done from workparts, it is not "simulcasted(sic)" The music will be the WLTW list, and the content will be selected for WLTW. It may not play on the upper East Side, but I would bet it works in all the rest of the market.

I agree. You don't experiment with a glorified radio version of "The View" in Morning Drive on the #1 billing station in America. I think Ryan's lost his mind.

I think the custom programming will work for WLTW.And yes, other custom/voicetracking programs, such as John Tesh,,give great cheers as well.If LA and Houston carry the custom Delilah program,it will work as well.

You cannot compare LA and Houston markets with New York. Have you ever been to New York?
Be serious.
This is NOT Delilah territory. Anyone that knows the city and demographics can see that. It's not a matter of opinion. This decision to put her on LTW did not come from someone in New York...obviously.

As I stated in an earlier post, I do not believe the Delilah decision was Jim Ryan's. The word within the industry is these two can barely stand to be in the same room together. But when the you get your orders from Texas, if you want to keep your job, you fall in step. That's exactly what Ryan had to do.

you are correct 100%. It is really sad what CC has done to radio.

On the plus side, the entire New York area now has a very reliable, non-addictive sleep aid they can utilize in place of the highly-addictive perscription kind.

horrible. jim ryan, beam me up...your an alien. steve c....start looking for a gig in long island cause yor revenue ain't movin up. less is less has begun!!!
