Delilah Possibility

I just saw on R-I that Delilah will on The Fish in California.

This leads me to wonder if maybe The Fish here is Cleveland might pick her show now that WDOK...I mean, The New 102 is no longer airing her show. Maybe move John Tesh to middays or drop him altogether.

Can't move Tesh to middays, as his show is (like Delilah) made to air in the evenings.

Now they could push Tesh to the late night hours (midnight-5 am) to accomodate her.

The Fish is certainly an out of left field option for Delilah (you wouldn't think the "Queen of sappy love songs" would work on a CCM station) but it's at least now on the table.

I would give it a 85% chance that her show will resurface at the Fish.It will probably be the custom/voicetrack version.

Her show doesn't appeal to me, but I'm not her target demo.

However, Delilah has had excellent middle-aged & older female ratings virtually everywhere for years.

Probably a very good fit with Fish-type/religious music stations and soft AC's.

Just to clarify what VJM mentioned.... Actually almost half of Tesh's affiliates air The John Tesh Radio Show during the daytime.

OK, I was wrong.

I took a gander at Tesh's website, and it is true that something like 40% of his stations air him earlier in the day (I don't know if he's on live earlier in the day, or if it's on delay).

I was always under the impression that his show was designed speciffically for the evenings, but looking into it further, his show is a bit different than Delilah.

So it is possible that (if the Fish wanted to) they could put Tesh on at midday and have Delilah go to evenings, or put him on overnight.

I'll be honest, the Fish would be smart to add Delilah at this point, to snag some WDOK ears that don't like how "The New 102" has "freshened up".

Tesh and Delilah can be "customized" (basically inserting their voicetracks in your own playlist) -- so they can in theory be aired at any daypart.. I am sure even one or two tesh stations have aired him during morning drive at one point.

If you have ever listened to Delilah you will notice she never intros or backsells the songs... the breaks are designed to be generic.
