Well you can still hear him for now on Austin's 105.9 The River. John Tesh is usually on Lite, Christian Hybrid ACs, and Non Hot AC formatted stations. So is Delilah, but Delilah is been on the air much longer. I wouldn't be suprised if John Tesh appears on KQXT.
It is all about imaging and pay and KQXT probally thought that Delilah's asking salary was much higher then Tesh's, and as far as I know Cox Radio doesn't have to divest any stations for right now in several markets like with Clear Channel so that might have something to do with it also. Delilah has been on KQXT since 1997 maybe longer, and that is a lot of years. The longer your program is on it can get stale. Also due to the lengthy PSAs on the Delilah show outdoing those on KKMJ where she is also heard there obiously seems to be a advertising problem. Making this move makes since because if you don't garner enough advertisers your station begins to fail.
