Delilah

Anyone know how she does in WSB-FM at night? It seems many stations have dumped her for local programming because she just doesn't have the appeal. What's the story in Atlanta?

In Feb., B98.5's strongest daypart was in the evenings while Delilah is on. The station ranked 6th 25-54 with a 5.9 share. Overall, it was a 4.9 (tied for 8th) in that demo.

To be blunt, that's very disappointing. IMO, Delilah is the weakest part of B98.5. I can't stand her show, for me, it's like nails on a blackboard.

I feel like she plays a lot of Hot AC stuff (pretty sure a lot of currents are only played during the Delilah show) - so IMO if that's their strongest daypart, that should tell them where they should be headed musically

Delilah is formatted so that a station can swap out some of the songs, which B98.5 does.

Most of the songs Delilah plays now are 1980's and after. One might here 1 or 2 songs that was pre 1980's, but unlike what she did years ago when she added a potpurri of music including those in the 1970's and some you don't here very often, Delilah now sounds like your typical Hot AC station as someone mentioned. The show has gotten very repetitive music-wise and that has to be a turnoff for listeners.

I think another reason a lot of people don't like her is because she talks too much. 10 songs an hour, give me a break!

She's like the Glenn Beck of AC radio! :D

I can think of another reason for that: it's Delilah. ::)

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delilah_Rene ).

There are several versions of the program that are available. The most common formats are as follows:
Mainstream Adult Contemporary (AC): This is the most widely distributed version of the show between January and early November. It airs the usual adult contemporary music and is geared towards Adults and their families. This is the version heard on most stations.
Gold-based AC: A version of the show that features several older hits.

Additionally, as I noted above, individual stations can swap some of the songs in the show. Point is, there is not "one" Delilah playlist or show that all stations broadcast.

Frankly, the sausagefest that is this board is not really her target demo.

Somehow I'd like to see it go down like this:

Q&A ...

Q: "We're an Active Rocker. Can Delilah be made to work for us?"

A: "Yes! A Premiere Radio Networks specialist will work with your team to customize Delilah just for you."

Caller: "I have a crush on my best friend and I'd like for him to know how I really feel about him--you know, more than just my BFF. I'd like to dedicate "My Best Friend's Hot" by the Dollyrots to Chad."
Delilah: "Well, sure, I'll play that for you. It sounds like Chad is a really nice guy and I hope you two have a wonderful time together."

Deliah talks more at night than Vikki does in AM Drive. I don't know if Bob Neal has Randy Kabrick doing research on how all her talk is contradictory to the tight breaks of Kelly McCoy, but I guess she's cheaper than having a local person on and certainly better than Cox bringing Chris Croc back to nights. Or Herman Cain. Sounds like B98 is the one Cox station where nighttime is the righttime.

Don't understand why everyone's complaining about her, when B98.5 is getting their highest ratings when she's on...I actually like listening to her every once in a while at night, cause it helps put me to sleep lol
