Delilah

I found out tonight that Delilah is now on 105.1 WESI. I think that her show will fit better on that station since their format is easy rock.
At least it will be again after Christmas 105.1 is finished!

She might be on sooner since she usually has a Christmas feed the stations can use. This time of year she has a Christmas feed and a standard feed so stations who do not flip to all Christmas can stay with their format.

What I meant by Delilah is now on 105.1 is just that. NOW. I heard her show Tuesday night using the Christmas feed.

Tonight I switched over to 105.1 and Delilah is not on.I checked and her show is not listed on the WESI website anymore. She lasted less than 6 months on Easy Rock 105.1

Are you sure about that? Because I was listening to Delilah. Tonight. On WESI. At around the time you posted this...

I don't think she was ever listed on their website anyway, in fact I don't think anybody bothers with that website in the first place.

It dont matter anyway. When new owners take over easy rock will be no more at some point. Heres a clue alpha invest in whatever format u do on 105.1. Fyi delilah website does show 105.1 as the affiliate.

Just checked again tonight and Delilah is definitely there. I think the confusion comes from the fact that WESI doesn't quite air Delilah "as is" in the way that WVEZ and WLUE did. In particular, they add a lot of songs from their own playlist to compensate for the fact that playing extra songs is more desirable than PSAs/blank air from the ad time that they're not selling. I'm guessing that when it was noted that Delilah was gone, the person who posted it was listening at one of those times. You can tell which songs are WESI programmed versus Delilah programmed by checking out the WESI live feed online. If a song shows up in their playlist, WESI programmed it, if it doesn't, Delilah programmed it. You can also tell since WESI has a certain selection of songs that get played multiple times everyday ("Human Nature" and Paul McCartney's "My Love," for example, and for some reason the Anita Baker "Caught Up in the Rapture"). In fact, just now, they played a Dr. Hook song (WESI) followed by Fun (Delilah).

It doesn't exactly make the nicest blend, but in all honesty, Delilah's show is a strange mix even without WESI doing this. Which explains why stations are dropping her left and right.

When does her show start? I was listening between 8 PM and 9 PM Tuesday night and it was the regular Easy Rock format. That lady was doing the liners and then music. After commercials the lady again then music. No Delilah at all. That's why I thought that Delilah was gone from 105.1.

They air it 7-midnight. They're a little inconsistent about the liners during Delilah, mixing up both Delilah's own (which I'm not sure if there is a custom one for Easy Rock) and the station's own. I don't listen to the show often, but I just happened to have it on Tuesday night around that time and remember in particular hearing the song "All Star" by Smash Mouth playing, which I know had to come from Delilah. I'm thinking that they may cut out parts of the program as well, because her voice isn't heard as often on WESI as it was on WVEZ/WLUE.

Country maybe? That's just a wild guess that has no basis in anything, but it's about the only thing that hasn't been tried there, and about the only thing Alpha could try that doesn't overlap with what they have (unless they give modern rock another shot at 105.1).

What I'd REALLY like to see at 105.1 is AAA (as I've mentioned before). It wouldn't be far-fetched for Alpha to try, they've already got one with KINK in Portland, OR (which they acquired from CBS). Granted, KINK is a heritage radio station that has a long successful history much like WHAS here, and has had a format something along the lines of AAA as it has evolved since 1968, but I would LOVE to see a radio station here with a playlist like theirs (http://kink.tunegenie.com/). It's a really nice blend of well-known and less-known artists on one station, and the closest any station here has ever come to such a format is WFPK (but they shun the popular AAA staples). It's worth a shot here, I mean let's be honest, what would they really be losing out on by trying something new at 105.1?

I would agree but the thing with louisville radio is they cant wait to here the latest from avenge seven fold or theory of a dead man but the neighborhood or the killers come out with something new they will pass. They say alt radio i am assuming aaa also only sells in big markets. I was told by radio people that the entire time 105.1 was lrs it never made a penny even when it got 4 shares in spring of 2005. There is some overlap with the alt aaa formats. And the fox did try louisvilles rock alternative for a bit. Didnt last. Whatever becomes of 105.1 they need to invest in it. Noone seems to want to. Remember 102.3 had similar problems for years goin from format to format but finally in may of 2002 went the hot/ac route and twleve years later there holding there own. We shall see...
