Delilah's "Gold Feed"....anyone taking the entire feed?

I know that some stations use the Delilah show Dedications...but program their own music. (Some use the 3 song/dedication breaks, and use their own music in between.)

Anyone know any station that takes the entire Delilah "gold feed" in it's entirety? Someone who uses all the music from the feed...and doesn't insert their own music locally?

Thanks!

Delilah's "Gold Feed"....anyone taking the entire feed?

The kinds of stations that program their own music in a syndicated show (and I believe Billy Bush offers this too) tend to be in major markets with the kind of staffing necessary to carry it out. It's a whole lot easier to just run the network feed, especially in terms of timing out the segments and hours. I've heard that WLTW in NY prefers to program their own music in Delilah, but I don't believe they run the Gold AC version.

When I was growing up in the 90s, she was considered Soft AC.
And I've been telling the people who run this site that "soft AC" doesn't belong here on this board. Perhaps now that most AC stations have abandoned the style it's possible to mention soft AC here, and given that WFEZ Miami runs Delilah's show it's actually possible. But you're talking about two entirely different styles of music.

I'm assuming that Soft AC/EZ Listening/Standards are lumped together here because they've been the easiest thing you would hear on the radio dial.

They're lumped together because the board's management team has been to occupied with other issues to update and consolidate the forums.

But what has really bothered me is that people come here and talk about Delilah and stations that air her show when the music on her show has more in common with the adult contemporary board than this one. I've always regarded her music as completely separate from the music we talk about here. Even though WJYR in Myrtle Beach, SC aired the show while still playing instrumentals as part of an easy listening format. Then another company bought the station and moved the right station to WJYR's frequency and made lots of people mad who weren't going to listen to the cheap substitute on an AM no one could hear, and another station quickly became #1 in the market going after WJYR's old audience who hadn't had a station that really comitted to them for years.

So...back to the original question.....

Anyone know any station that takes the entire Delilah "gold feed" in it's entirety? Someone who uses all the music from the feed...and doesn't insert their own music locally?

The thing is, the only people who would know that are people who work at radio stations that air Delilah's show. Most of us only know what we know about Delilah's show if we hear it in our market. And even then, we can't tell if it's her songs or someone elses. I appreciate your curiosity, but chances are the people who know the answer aren't participating in this forum.

Let me ask you a question in return. How would anyone who listens to Delilah After Dark in their home market know whether or not the songs being played are what she's putting out or are dropped in locally? I'm not talking about doing diligent research, I'm talking about someone who simply listens to her show.

The question is posed to those who work in the biz, not simply listeners.

Those who work at a station...or used to work in a station that takes Delilah..or knows what another station in their cluster does...or could ask a friend.

I would imagine that many people who work in AC radio would be visiting these forums....not just " someone who simply listens".

That's a reasonable assumption. However, based on reading all of the replies to all of the threads in here, it appears that is not the case. And by "here", I mean the entire "Radio Formats" category.

Do you believe that most of the people active in the radio formats forums are not working in the industry....and simply listeners?

In my brief time here, I've encountered a mix of both.

Read through the replies and judge for yourself. And while you do that, note that even those who work in the industry probably work at stations that don't air Delilah After Dark.

Because the average Joe Public equates Soft AC as being an "easy listening" format and because standards stations are incorporating core Soft AC artists (Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, The Carpenters, even Celine Dion) into their playlists, I think it makes sense to lump Soft AC in here.

My experience through the whole radiodiscussion forums is that it's filled with people in the business. And since AC is one of the most popular formats...and since most stations are in clusters...the odds that someone would know (or care?) is pretty high.

Instead of extending the thread by criticizing other posters....just ignore what doesn't relate to you. That's the way discussion boards and discussion lists work. It also helps with less noise and off topic posts.

I've criticized no one.
