Delmarva Educational Association Acquires 106.5 The Ticket Toledo

Part of this was in response to Cumulus having to sell off stations in relation to their bankruptcy.

Cumulus Media’s Mainstay Station Trust has sold Sports “106.5 The Ticket” WTOD Delta/Toledo OH to Delmarva Educational Association for $110,000.

WTOD was the last of the four stations required to be sold off by Cumulus following the company’s exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2018. Cumulus will retain all of the intellectual property of the station and call letters. The deal is being valued at $400,000 for tax purposes with the remainder of the $110,000 purchase being considered a charitable contribution from Cumulus.

an article on Wikipedia is implying that despite the sale, the format may not change. Interesting to see what happens.

Not sure where you saw that because currently the Wikipedia says the station will flip to a religious format. Based on what I know about the new owner, that sounds correct. And because a portion of the sale price was a donation, it's likely the station will become non-commercial.

Cumulus is likely to move the call letters and format to another of their stations in the market.
