This is kind of sad to write, but Delta Star Radio's WJJD is moving
from Part-15 to an internet-only broadcast. The format will remain unchanged.
This was caused partly due to some of the Florida hurricanes and thunderstorms.
Two lightning strikes in 2005 caused damage to the transmitter. I'm not a good enough engineer/tech to figure out how to repair it, so a new transmitter is the only other option.
Also, over 90% of our listeners were listening via the web anyway. Due to WJJD's
"daytimer" hours, it meant manually signing on/off every day.
I'm holding on to the antenna system and tuning box. Our property is up for sale, and, after our move (whenever that is) maybe I'll put it on the air again from our new home (WHEREever that is!) My family owns the property, where my
Mom and Dad raise Paso Fino horses. We all just need more land! Sp we are looking for a bigger farm, still in the North Florida/South Georgia area.
WJJD does have a brand new sister station as of today, Feb. 15. Big Audio
Dynamite is an Internet classic CCM music station.
WJJD/Part15 was great fun and I loved every minute of it. It did survive through five hurricanes/stoems, but Dennis last June gave us the worst weather in this area. Even being grounded with lightning and surge protectors didn't
keep a couple of components from frying in what was a super-close hit. We never
did figure out exactly what is was the lightning struck.
The Big Audio Dynamite's link is: http://www.live365./com/stations/musicofnewlife.
WJJD Country Giant's link is below in the signature.
Take care everyone.<P ID="signature">______________
