Demise of Blu 102.9?

I've noticed recently that the voicetracked talent has disappeared on weekends, and I'm not hearing any jocks during the times I've checked on weekdays (I'm listening online in Houston.) Also, the list of airstaff has vanished from their website.

There had been rumors of KLBU being up for sale. Are they now in a transition period before a format change? Wouldn't surprise me; their ratings have plummeted, and Blu Ventures may be looking to get out.

Anyone closer to the situation know what is going on with the station? I enjoy it (nice alternative to the stale playlist on the local Smooth Jazz station here) but I also realize that the Chill format may have run its course.

Thanks for the link, which confirmed my suspicions. KLBU will probably morph into what might be described as an AAA/eclectic/alternative format, with Chill as one of its elements. Hopefully they'll continue to stream.

And for those who want Chill, there are still several flavors of it available on Groovera, SomaFM, and LaunchCast. The new Slacker.com even has something called "Alternative Chill" along with their regular Chill stream!!!

Another Trust fund run amok in Santa Fe. 102.9..bought for a million dollars in 2004 - sold for $450,000 in 2007.

Bill Sims should have repurchased and sold it again to another Santa Fe sucker!
