Dennis & Callahan has fallen to 7th place Men 25-54 in November. The final week of the month, they were in 10th.

Comparatively, 98.5 was 1st in both, and ESPN 28th.
 
WEEI-93.7's ratings problem this time of year can be summed up in three words:

No. Red. Sox.

Once baseball returns, WEEI's ratings will spike again.

They always do well during baseball season, and poorly in the off-season.

Unless the NHL lockout ends, "The Sports Hub"'s (WBZ-98.5) ratings may plunge after the Patriots' season ends.

All sports radio ratings may plunge after the Super Bowl (or earlier, if the Patriots are eliminated in the playoffs) if the Celtics turn out to be as mediocre as their current performances indicate they are. February is a dreary sports month anyway, but with .500-or-worse Celtics and no Bruins there's not going to be much of local interest to talk about until spring training starts up.
 
Maybe they should go back to talking about politics. They're being beaten by (among others) a show on a sports radio station that really doesn't feature very much in the way of sports.
 
A given station and the sport it carries or doesn't carry doesn't have as much to do with it's ratings in the big picture.....It's the hosts talent or lack thereof, that would keep listeners no matter what they are talking about.

I am not a huge football fan, but I still listen to sports radio in the winter. Why? Because it's the talent of the hosts that make the show still interesting and fun to listen to.

If 'EEI had the proper morning, afternoon (not including M&M because they are good), and night hosts they would be leading no matter what time of year it is.
 
I think you're alone on Mut and Midre. Last I knew they were still losing pretty substantially to Gresh and Zo.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. There are enough sports fans to support both WEEI and WBZ-FM, and they cater to different audiences. Personally, I love all of 'EEI's programming more than WBZ-FM (except D&C... as a left leaning independent in his late 20's, I find the Soccer Moms to be obnoxious.)
 
Yeah, it does seem like not many people like Mut and Lou, IMO they are so much more easy to listen to Dale and both EA and Holley, Neumy was ok tho.

But that's a good point I didn't think of, both stations being able to sustain themselves with their given audience because yeah, they do certainly cater to two types of audience
 
Mut and Lou is a tough listen. I think Lou would do better on TV. Give the slot to a radio pro.

I find the Mikey show to be tough as well, but more so b/c all the hot topics have been worn out by that time of day.
