Was John Dennis kidding this morning when he said that Gerry Callahan has moved to the Big Show, and DeOssie will now do mornings??? Why mess with success? Aren't Dennis & Callahan #1 in morning drive? Is this another example of Entercom screwing up?

Yawn. I tuned out of EEI a long time ago (long before the Sports Hub launched).

I always found D&C in the morning completely repellent and the Big Show was nothing but a room full of boneheads yelling at each other with breaks of 20 minute commercial blocks. No thanks.

So yeah, I've given up on EEI and now that 98.5 has launched, there's no reason to look back.

Aside from his political leanings, I could never get past his constant sarcasm and general nastiness.

greatest Callahan moment ever was when Gov. Jesse Ventura on and Callahan went on and on about what a man's man Ventura was, as a e former SEAL and ex-pro wrestler who became a politician for telling it like it is. Then Callahan starts sniveling about gay marriage to his new man's man buddy and asks a questions he knows will get a gay-bashing answer "What do you think about here in Massachusetts, we have gay marriage where men can actually marry other men?" His voice dripped with disgust at the very thought of married gays, and he clearly was trying to goad Ventura into some good ole, right-wing, anti-gay, man's man talk.

THE ANSWER: Ventura: "They cando whatever they want. the government has no right to interfere"

The silence from the idiot callahan was deafening.

that's because Ventura is a Libertarian, and they do not believe the Government has any right to interfere with what 2 consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom.

I can't listen to 850 for more than a few minutes before I have to tune out.

I'm amazed that anyone really believed this. Callahan on the Big Show......two full time hosts plus guest hosts every day? I guess you really have to be careful what you say on the radio. Even if you're kidding people will believe you.

Callahan has figured out the key to success. He has everyday listeners who love him and everyday listeners who hate him. I read the media section of SoSH and he is universally despised, but it sounds like most of them listen every day. I suspect that he'll be doing AM drive for some time to come.
