From this morning's San Jose Mercury:
Benefits to help ailing deejay
HEART ATTACK VICTIM UNINSURED, IN HOSPITAL
By Brad Kava
Mercury News
Dennis Erectus, a relentlessly creative radio deejay who helped put San Jose on the rock 'n' roll broadcast map for more than 20 years, suffered a heart attack Thanksgiving night and is hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Bands and radio friends are planning a series of benefits to help the uninsured performer -- who went from being a high-profile personality to working behind the scenes -- defray his hospital costs. The first is Jan. 12 at the Avalon in Santa Clara, with performers including Greg Kihn, Fragile, Wildfire and Hush.
