At 7:40PM on Friday, June 18th, I heard 92.3 Now play this track! ;D For those of you that don't follow dance music, or outright DETEST it, you would not know or care about the significance of this. But from a dance music point of view, this is HUGE!
This is not the first dance track that 92.3 Now had played. However, "Hey Hey" is groundbreaking in the sense that the roots of this track comes from an underground house angle (played in the NYC dance clubs like "Cielo" and "Pacha") and is really something that I would never have expected a CHR station to hop on to. A station like Party FM in Long Island....YES. To hear it on 92.3 Now was a pleasant shock!
. If Z-100 were to have played this, I would have a coronary! (okay DToTheJ, you're probably on the phone right now calling Z to request this! lol)
Seriously, to hear dance music on a CHR station, especially something as edgy as this, is a blessing and I hope more CHR stations throughout the country get behind "Hey Hey".
92.3 NOW...thank you!
